NATIONWIDE IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE
Though I'm not one of the thousands of customers dropped by nationwide, my rate went up$1200/yr to $3600/yr and my coverage dropped from 70% to 50%. I have the policy 8 years since my dog was a puppy. Not real happy.

ASPCA is the very best
I have two dogs – an older dog and a six month old. I don’t know that I would’ve gotten a puppy without having had such a wonderful experience with ASPCA. I have used other pet insurance with previous fur kids . ASPCA is the best. It’s seamless. Their coverage policy is clear. I recommend them to everyone. I am recommending them to you.

Pretend Runny Nose 5 Years Ago Means Asthma is a "Preexisting" Condition
I decided to get pet insurance after experiencing high vet bills when my oldest cat had kidney failure. Since getting this policy, Nationwide has rejected every single one of my claims because a vet 5 years ago added a visit note that my cat's nose was wet. Even when I escalated this issue, noting that my cat had never had asthma attacks before this year, Nationwide rejected my claims. Now, I've spent $286 paying for a policy and $800 paying for vet visits, lung x-rays, and medication. I do not recommend this insurance unless your pet has literally never seen a vet.

Christina @ Lemonade Claims Rep
We had to take our fur baby Lucy to the emergency vet for a puncture on her left paw. Luckily she's doing well and no long term issues just lot's of stitches. Christina @ Lemonade assisted with the claim we submitted and she was very efficient, friendly and quickly processed the claim

Pets Best cares more about its bottom line than our animals
We only adopt rescues. And although we humans got rid of pre-existing conditions in our healthcare, they still plague pet healthcare. When we got Minerva, we had to bring her to the vet during the 14-day waiting period because she had immanent medical issues. What do these insurers expect us to do, not give them life-saving care? At the time I expected Pets Best to not pay for that visit, since it was in the waiting period. What I did not anticipate is that they would nearly every claim we made after the 14-day waiting period by trying to find even the most specious connections back to that initial visit. Surgeries, medications, office visits, we've ended up with thousands of dollars of medical bills for procedures that we understood to be totally unrelated but that became "pre-existing conditions" as a result of that first visit. Here's an example of Pets Best malicious abuse of this policy:
We had Minerva checked for a UTI because she wasn't always peeing in the litter box. The UTI came back clear, so we tried placing a litter box in the area she was peeing. Turned out that cleared the issue - she just had specific places in her new house she wanted to pee. Pets Best didn't pay for the UTI because it was during the waiting period. Fine. But then, four months later, we brought her in for a newly developed anxiety issue. We had gotten a third cat, and Minerva developed a significant anxiety disorder in response. Our vet put her on Prozac. And when we filed the claim with Pets Best, they denied it.
Why? Because it was treating a "behavioral condition," and Minerva has a pre-existing history of "behavioral conditions" because she at one time peed outside of the litter box. No relation whatsoever to the events, no shared symptoms, and no common treatment pattern. When I spoke to a Pets Best representative, they said they are entitled to deny ALL behavioral treatments going forward because we brought her in for that UTI test and it WASN'T a UTI.
For the record, we've been with Pets Best since 2015. Used to have nothing but high regard for them. But after 9 years, it's clear that they no longer care about us as customers or the welfare of animals, only manipulating their "pre-existing condition" policy to protect their bottom line. I strongly recommend everyone to avoid using this insurer. Find someone else.

Excellent Insurance for a Medically Complex Pup
We signed our Goldendoodle, Emerson, up for Healthy Paws Insurance when we brought him home as a puppy four years ago, and we are beyond happy that we did. When he was about 2.5 years old, Emerson suffered severe acute gastrointestinal distress and was subsequently diagnosed with irritable bowel disease (IBD). This has resulted in multiple hospitalizations as well as expensive diagnostic procedures, which have collectively cost in excess of $20K. The Healthy Paws team has stood by Emerson the entire time, covering virtually all expenses (aside from our deductible). This has allowed us to give our boy the care and love he needs without any worry about the financial consequences of his illness. Moreover, all claims (including very large ones) have been processed in a matter of days. We're very grateful for the team at Healthy Paws and cannot recommend them enough!

Great service and quick claim payments
I just purchased Lemonade for my two standard poodle puppies. This was done at the recommendation of my "emergency" vet, Dr. Abolnik @ MY PETS VETERINARY URGENT CARE & WELLNESS clinic in Kirkland, Washington, who said Lemonade is a great insurance company...and Yep, he was right!

We love Healthy Paws
We had a fantastic experience with Healthy Paws. Piggy became suddenly paralyzed and needed emergency spinal surgery. This was very stressful and expensive. We submitted our invoice from the hospital and were reimbursed within 2-3 days.
Healthy Paws helped turn a horrible incident into a less stressful one with their quick processing time.
We would definitely recommend them!!

Worth the money
I have a cat and dog, both fully covered. Recently I took in a stray cat. After taking her immediately to my vet for a check up and vaccinations, it was determined that she is approximately 7 years old and had several broken and abcessed teeth and would need periodontal surgery. I submitted the claim and within 10 days received the 90% reimbursement. I am so appreciative for the insurance because it allows me to be sure my pets can be treated when needed. My dog who was a rescue has had several medical problems and I have had the same great service for her.

Healthy Paws saved my dogs life and my peace of mind.
Healthy Paws has saved my fur babies multiple times. As recent as this past month.
My dog was throwing up constantly. After the 7th time we brought her to the ER. To keep a long story short, they found a mass on her liver and in her spleen. The concern was of course cancer since her liver levels were off. She had emergency surgery for a spleen removal and the mas on her liver removed. Turns out, the mass on the liver was a slow growing cancer. It was fully removed and she is healed and healthy now thankfully!
Having healthy paws made every decision SO easy, as we did not have to worry about the costs. I knew the policy covers emergency's and the "unexpected" which this definitely was. No one can plan financially for something like this. What healthy paws allowed us to do, is say yes to all options for helping our dog, Pepper, without having to stress about the money.
We put the money on our credit card and submitted our claims once we got the final invoices from the vet. The uploading was easy and simple. Took me less than 4 minutes to upload and submit everything on the Healthy Paws Website.
Total, Pepper's bill was $10,500 (give or take). Healthy Paws refunded just over $9k, and we ended up paying less than $2k for surgery, meds, overnight stay, and sending the masses out to be tested. It literally saved her life and our wallet.
I know having pet insurance is a privilege. I will be open and say we have 4 animals on our plan and pay just over $200 a month for all 4. If you can afford Healthy Paws, please invest! for your fur babies sake and peace of mind for you.
I have so many more life saving stories where Healthy Paws allowed me to have peace of mind. I'm so thankful for their insurance. Truthfully, I wish this is house human insurance worked.
