BIRTH DEFECTS AND CONGENITAL ARE PRE-EXISTING
I bought this insurance because they claim to cover hereditary/congenital. Well that is a load of garbage. My dog had a very rare skeletal muscle hamartoma - it was congenital (as he was born with it) as well as Von Willebrand. Now at the time I got the insurance I was only aware of the Von Willebrand's but they told me it would be covered. Well we submit for his surgery to have his throat mass removed after waiting on a final histopathology only to be denied. They deemed it PREEXISTING. of course it was preexisting it was congenital. He was born with it.

Great pet insurance
Last year my cat, Joey, needed an ACL repair. Major surgery, rarely in cats! MetLife covered the surgery expenses at the best, most highly recommended surgeon in the area. They also covered all his recommended treatments, including laser and physical therapy, and follow-up. No questions asked, as long as the surgeon felt it was necessary. The customer service was excellent.
Yes, it wasn’t the least expensive, but the coverage was excellent! Joey is fully recovered and back to playing!

Annual checkup reimbursement
"This was the first time I put in a claim. The whole process was great from start to finish. The app was very helpful and quite easy to understand. Afterwards they sent an email explaining everything. "

Excellent Experience when I made a claim
Excellent service, simple to submit a claim. They covered everything according to the plan without any delays. We received the reimbursement before the credit card bill came in. I have two dogs that are insured through healthypaws and I highly recommend this service. It really offers a "peace of mind" when unexpected health issues occur with your pets. Jasmine just had TPLO surgery, and it really took the financial implications out of the equation when deciding what to do about her knee injury. I will always have this service as long as I have pets in the home

Pets Best Has Been Amazing
I’ve always had pets, but it wasn’t until getting my now 4 year old dog did I even think about getting pet insurance. I asked around, posted on social media, and read online reviews before deciding on Pets Best.
Pets Best offers illness, accident, and wellness coverage, as well as reimbursement for heartworm prevention. The monthly rates are affordable and submitting a claim is easy! I simply scan my billing statement with my info, my pets’ info, and what I purchased to the Pets Best app. I receive reimbursement directly so everything is paperless, as well.
Additionally, Pets Best customer service is awesome! I had a complex billing issue (due to a provider’s clerical error) and they couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful.
Overall, Pets Best has been a great choice for my family.

Be Aware, They may (DENY), Erin Brockovich your claim
Healthy Paws is not comprehensive nor does it really cover your dog. If your dog has ever had an allergic reaction or skin irritation in the past they will deny the claim. I submitted a claim when he developed a rash after swimming in the bay. He kept scratching which created infection. It went away after treatment with antibiotics, medicated baths and a cortisone injection. It turned out my wife and I had the same itch and bites after swimming in the bay with him. After researching I found its called swimmers itch which is generally caused by nymph jellyfish, crab bacteria and a few others which could be in the water. They denied coverage saying he had a skin allergy in the past. Like the movie Erin Brockovitch there response is deny, deny, deny. Find a more reputable company.

John - We're sorry for any frustration during the processing of your claim. Based upon your communications with our team, an appeal was created. Our team had the appeal review case expedited for you. That appeal claim was covered and applied toward the annual deductible. You should receive a separate email with your Explanation of Benefits noting coverage.
