Gus' Second Chance
🐾 A Heartfelt Thank You to Willow Grace Veterinary Hospital in Middletown DE and Pinnacle Veterinary Specialists in Glen Mills, PA 🐾
This past Sunday was incredibly tough for us. Gus was in severe pain, trembling and barely walking. Having seen something similar before, we rushed him to Willow Grace. The amazing staff there suspected it was a back issue again, but thankfully, not as severe as before.
However, by Monday night, things took a turn for the worse. Gus could no longer use his back legs, was crying in pain, and we felt absolutely helpless. After a quick call Tuesday morning, the compassionate team at Willow Grace swiftly got us an appointment with a neurological specialist at Pinnacle Vet.
The staff at Pinnacle Vet were incredible. After examining Gus, they confirmed he had a herniated disc in his lower spine. Faced with a very hard decision, we were overwhelmed by their support and kindness. The MRI alone was $3,500 and surgery was estimated between $8,000 and $10,000.
Thankfully, when we adopted Gus, we also got pet insurance through Healthy Paws. Reaching out to them, we were met with some of the most understanding and supportive people. We are beyond grateful that our policy covered 80% of the expenses.
On Tuesday, Gus underwent emergency surgery and we’re relieved to share that it was a success! He was released today and is now resting at home. The next 6 weeks will be challenging, but he's already showing signs of improvement.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from this experience, it’s this: pet insurance is absolutely worth it. It made what would have been a hard decision easier, and we couldn’t be more thankful to everyone who helped us get through this. So many friends have said they always thought about getting the pet insurance but never followed through. Do yourself the favor, get the insurance.

Paying for the extras. Today, it's Proin & Apoquel
We use Pets Best insurance for our 5 year old Doberman. They have reimbursed us 90% for UTI visits & meds, Apoquel, Proin, Echocardiogram for shortness of breath when running., stool specimens, antibiotics, etc. We can swing the routine costs of having a dog, but we're grateful for the insurance to cover the extras after our $500 deductible. Highly recommend.

Absolutely Horrible Pet Insurance
I placed my first claim on 7/22/24. I provided ALL the medical documentation I have for my dog. I called after two weeks of hearing nothing and they stated I needed to submit all the medical records when I did. Then, they stated they are missing 2022. I explained she didnt go and I pushed her vaccines back and they are landed in Jan 2023. The gentleman said it wasn’t a problem. Here we are two weeks later and my claim is still saying i need to provide all medical records. Outrageous. I will be calling them again in the morning and demanding a refund for the two months I have paid for with no action and I’ll be cancelling my plan

PetsBest is horrible all around!!
PetsBest makes false statements on their website just to get clients. They are not the fastest company at processing claims, as I have over 8 years with another pet insurance company proving PetsBest month+ long waits at processing claim is NOT the fastest! Their employees are unqualified for the proven fact they tried denying my claim that the pets name and and service dates where not listed on the invoice.....WHICH THEY CLEARLY WERE!! Their staff members can be rude and will hangup on you and when you try to get the name of the rude employee that likes to hangup the phone, you are refused that information and refused to be connected to that person. PetsBest does not have adequate trying for their employees, making the statement on their website about having well trained staff another false statement. They also do not post real representation of customer ratings, making them deceive clients to get more business. I would NEVER recommend such a deceitful, lying and corrupt company to anyone!! Do your research and def. do not choose PetsBest!!!

Improvement
The first 6 months they were terrible.Lately when you call you get a pleasant person who speaks English.I insure 3 dogs with them …a few claims and I thought they would choose not to renew …they did renew with no premium increase- and gave me an additional $500 of insurance @ no charge.Keep it up met life
