No Nonsense Pet Insurance
I've been using Nationwide (formerly VPI for quite sometime now. I have the major medical insurance for both my dogs. I keep them as healthy as ever - but occasionally something comes up - that is unexpected. The staff are absolutely great & answer all my questions to the best of their ability. Claims are always handled in a prompt manner. I even told my vet to recommend this insurance if clients ask. There are many plans to chose from - so each pet family is different.

Never use Trupanion unless you like getting ripped off.
Trupanion has by far been the worst experience imaginable. I tried to cancel my dog insurance due to finding a better company. Once I contacted them in January to cancel, they said that they never got my email stating that I wished to term coverage. It’s now May (almost June) and my coverage still hasn’t been canceled and I am still having to pay each month. I have reached out on multiple occasions to get this resolved and even upper management never call me back. Save your time and money and don’t use this company.

Paid for itself 10 times over. Effortless claims, super friendly Customer Service. Perfect!
I decided on Healthy Paws from the very high ratings on this site and signed up with them the day I got my 3 month old mixed breed puppy. She's had a few crazy things happen like eating a sock and a few minor issues that I as an overly worried dog owner usually end up with the vet for. Healthy Paws has paid their portion of each claim with no issues whatsoever.

WORST INSURANCE EVER - SCAMMERS
They are the biggest scammers. They always try to find little things here and there to make sure they dont cover anything. When you call them, they are very rude, they dont treat you as customer, they think you are their dogs. Their claim reviewing team is the worst. They make up excuses and come up with the worst excuses to avoid paying you. Its like they are trained to go against you. Please stay away from them. Im going to file a dispute against them.

I think Nation wide is great.
I think that insurance was the best thing I have ever purchased for my dog. I feel that nationwide is quick to respond to claims. I appreciate having the pet insurance. My dog has been insured since he was a puppy. I recommend that all pet parents get pet insurance, it helps when your pet gets injured or is feeling under the weather.

They actually do what you'd want from an insurance company
My dog needed to have surgery to remove a tumor he had developed on his chin and it was also recommended that it be sent in to test for whether it was benign or not. ASPCA was quick to look over the claim and fulfill their part without causing any distress or pushing back. A few weeks later, my dog had developed conjunctivitis and the claim was fulfilled within only a couple of days. I was honestly worried that I'd have to put up a fight to actually get my claims fulfilled, but these experiences have given me a ton of confidence and I'm happy that I went with ASPCA for my pet insurance.

Quick processing on large claim
Our poor Annabelle came down with pneumonia, and had to be admitted for two night at a critical care facility to receive supplental oxygen and IV antibiotics. The bill was large, and ASPCA didn’t fight anything on it, within a week itthe claim was paid. The only complaint is I don’t really know where they get their customary rates from, especially for blood work, some seem incredibly low.

Pleased as Punch
Pleased with my pet insurance. When I filed my Wellness Claim for my kitties I received noticed that it could take 30 days for reimbursement but I was thoroughly pleased to receive nearly 100% of my claim within two weeks. And when one of my kitties got injured I didn't meet the deductible for the emergency care and so no reimbursement was needed. All the same Nationwide was kind enough to check in to say they hope that my cat was doing well since his last visit. I really appreciated that message.
