I was a new client and we'd only been insured for a month or so when Vinny suddenly stopped eating. I thought he was grieving the loss of his friend who had recently died from cancer. After ten days of not eating, I nearly carried him into the vet hospital (but he walked in); surprisingly, he had hookworms. Many tests were run on him bc all his levels were not normal. He was dehydrated and needed to be hospitalized for three days on I.V. fluids. I really thought he wasn't going to make it, but he did! The insurance company rejected payment at first bc of some confusion; however, after an appeal and another 6 long weeks of waiting for the review, they came through for me and Vinny and reimbursed us! I knew that was the right thing to do, but i honestly figured they'd be like every other insurance company: take your money and never pay out. But they came through and did the right thing. I am very grateful and would recommend them to anybody who has pets and can't afford huge, unexpected, life or death situation-type veterinary bills. I would hate to have to put my dogs down because i couldn't afford an emergency medical treatment plan.

I’m so very happy we had this policy in place! I was hoping we’d never have to use it but filing a claim online was a breeze. Couldn’t have made it any easier and the timeline was great.

We are just starting to deal with a very concerning issue with our 13 mo old puppy who seems to have suddenly developed MegaEsophagus without any of the usual symptoms. Discovered on X-ray when we took her in for decreased appetite and exercise intolerance. NO other symptoms! Now we will need to start the process of figuring out the cause and hope it's one of the treatable/fixable ones. Pets Best insurance claim process and quick response is one less stressor we will have to experience during this stressful time, for which we are SO very grateful! It's so hard dealing with your pet being sick and the last thing any pet owner needs is concerns re: insurance coverage and claims. We are very grateful that we read such great reviews and obtained this insurance and that they are living up to all their rave reviews!

Last week I made a claim and even though I was told it would take longer they finished it quick and explained my benefit

We switched from another insurance provider, and I'm really glad we made the decision to switch to Nationwide. It's been really easy to submit claims and get them processed. We chose to add the Pet Wellness option, which is a nice feature. Nationwide has honored what they stated they would reimburse, and we've saved so much money. Nationwide has made it a lot easier for us to make sure our pet is well taken care of.

I would recommend Nationwide to anyone. In fact, anyone who I have a discussion with about veterinarians I always mention insurance for dogs.

My dog was under the weather for a couple of days. I had to take him to the doctor. I paid out of my pocket for his visit. I filled a claim and was reimbursed for the bill minus my deductible with no problems. Thank You
