Best thing I could have done for my boxer boy

I purchased Embrace insurance the day after we adopted our baby boxer boy and it was the best thing I could have ever done for him. While he had an episode of pancreatitis that was not covered as it was within the two week waiting period, pretty much everything else he has been through has been covered. When you sign up, if you can afford too, go with the highest reimbursement rate you can get (90%) and purchase the medication plan. You will be surprised how expensive medications can be. If you pay annually you get a small discount and you will pay just one annual fee and then not worry about it the rest of the year. Every customer service representative has been great and the 90% I get back goes right into my back account. Some other plans don't cover exam fees but Embrace does so keep that in mind when looking at other plans and Embrace has an annual deduction, not a per-condition deduction like some other plans do. Keep these two things in mind and seriously consider purchasing Embrace!

Embrace has Saved Me Money and my Puppy is only 6

I purchased pet insurabce because I didn't want to be stuck in a situation where if my dog really needed some serious surgery I wouldn't be able to afford it. However, I also purchased Embraces wellness plan. And I've already received more in reimbursement then I've spent. I know this will change as a Daisy grows but the reassurance I get not just from if something major goes wrong it is covered, which is worth the price, but Embrace also makes your dogs care more affordable over their lifetime with wellness benefits.

READ MY EXPERIENCE BEFORE YOU BUY ASPCA INSURANCE

I bought the fancy Level 4 plan with a $7000 annual maximum. About $900/year.Plan period runs January 1-January 1. On December 14, my dog presented with severe anemia. The vet did some tests, with no causation, and sent me to a specialist who did additional tests-no causation. Her anemia is worsening. Now, at the very end of the year, the specialist recommends a bone marrow aspiration, at the cost of about $1200. It is scheduled for the following week, first week of January. It turns out she has an autoimmune disease, and now is being treated successfully. My $1200 claim is DENIED. Why? "Any illness that continues into the next plan period will not be covered". So, because my pet was unlucky enough to develop a life threatening condition only 2 weeks before her plan period ended, we only had two weeks to have this illness covered by the insurance. In our case, after that 2 weeks we still didn't even have a diagnosis! ASPCA denied me before they even knew what they weren't covering! So much for my fancy, expensive $7000 Level 4 plan. The plan automatically renews, the premiums automatically continue to be charged, but the care stops cold at the end of the plan period. I argued and they finally relented after many phone calls, and emails, and conversations with their customer service (BTW a nice guy, a credit to their company, only reason they deserve 1 star). In the end, in order to something back from the $1200 bone aspiration bill, I had to retroactively (12 months) pay premiums for a continuing care add-on, and pay an additional $100 deductible. Continuing Care only offers an additional $2500 in coverage. Did I mention that I had been paying for a $7000 coverage plan all along? What a deal. If you have ASPCA insurance, you better hope that if your pet becomes ill, it happens at the beginning of the plan period. We have no control of these things and this should not be a factor in an insurance plan. I am thinking that the few positive reviews that are out there are people who were lucky enough to have their pet's illness occur in the early months of their plan period, giving them time to go through the diagnostic process and treatment. Lucky you. We were at the other end. BE ADVISED! THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE. There is a reason why they are rated so poorly.. Don't waste your money, there are better plans out there.

Prompt and courteous service.

My dog had surgery for the removal and biopsy of three lumps. I was so glad to have embrace pet insurance since it reimbursed me for so much of the cost. My check arrived promptly and communication with embrace was efficient and courteous. I recommend this insurance to all my pet owning friends.

Very pleased with coverage and service

Pet insurance on my second pet. First died very early and ASPCA did a great job when she was very ill. Now on our 2nd policy and still am most pleased with how they respond to claims. They are processed fairly and quickly. I've recommended them to several other pet owners, they joined and are also very happy with the.

The Best Choice

We have had our dog covered with Embrace for 5 years. He hasn't had huge expenses...yet. But he's 8 years old now and will probably have more. This year he saw the vet for a lot of smaller issues but it adds up. We have found this insurance to be easy, prompt with payment, and hassle free. When I have called them they were friendly and helpful. I wondered when we first bought insurance coverage for our dog if it was really needed. But we have been 100% pleased with the decision and with the choice of Embrace.
