Healthy Paws is the best!
I woke up one morning and my 3 year old cat was limping on a hind leg. I took him to the vet only to find he had a broken hip that needed surgery. This was devastating news! There were 2 surgical options and my vet could perform one if them right away. The other option required a specialist. Since he had been sedated to take the x-rays, the vet needed to know the answer quickly. First, I contacted Healthy Paws Customer Service to see if the surgery was covered by my plan. The woman who took my call could not have been more sympathetic and reassuring. She assured me that with my policy, both types of surgeries were covered and let me know about the deductible and other details of the policy. She was very kind and did her best to calm me down and put me at ease.
After weighing our options for the surgery, since the surgery that required a specialist wouldn't be able to happen for 5 days due to their schedule, we went ahead with the surgery our vet could perform. All went well, and we were able to bring Oreo home. The day after the surgery, he wasn't eating or drinking much, and contacted the vet. They suggested we bring him in. They felt it might be due to pain, and prescribed a larger dosage of pain meds and also gave him an appetite stimulant.
The next day, Sunday, we saw that his leg appeared to be swollen. We took him to the emergency vet, who let us know it sometimes happened in cases like this, and to follow up with our vet the next day. We did, and because he was out of the anti-inflammatory they prescribed, they prescribed more, and additional pain meds. A week later he went in to have stitches removed, and he will return next week for his 30 day check-up.
Filing a claim was so easy! I just snapped pictures of the invoices and doctors notes and uploaded them into the Healthy Paws app. Within 10 days, I had been reimbursed for everything but the cost of the doctors visits, the deductible and 10% of the remaining costs. It was deposited right into my checking account.
Oh! I forgot to mention, I also received an email from Healthy Paws asking about how Oreo was doing! I though that was really nice!
I can't thank Healthy Paws enough for all of their kind, supportive and compassionate service. I highly recommend them to everyone who is shopping for pet health insurance.

Unexpected expenses during Vet visit
Our 2 year old Stabyhoun was diagnosed with an enlarged heart, on accident, when he was getting an X-ray of his stomach for a recurrence of an infection. The vet gave him an EKG to test his heart and found an anomaly in one if the spikes on the graph.
She also took a blood test to determine if there had been any heart damage due to his enlarged heart.
Nationwide reimbursed us for an expensive veterinary visit I n just a few days.
It was a great relief for us knowing we had insurance and could allow the Vet to do the needed tests without worrying about how we could afford them.

Getting pet insurance for my older dog has been a literal life-saver
My elderly dog has been experiencing some significant health issues. I would not have been able to get him the best treatment possible without Nationwide. My pup means the world to me and it means the world to know that Nationwide has my back with his medical coverage.

Does Not reimburse well enough. They have very low limits on what they will pay on each condition. Horrible coverage.
Nationwide Pet Ins. does not reimburse anywhere close to what my Vets charges. They have very low limits on what they will pay for each Condition. Example: My 12 yr. old dog has been covered by this Company all his live. Now that he has Chronic Kidney problems, they will not cover much of his Medical bills.

Peace of mind
Pets are naturally inquisitive and often find trouble... Whether it's experiencing the environment by eating weird objects, or encountering an unfortunate accident. I like knowing that my pet is able to get quality health care. With the coverage we have, I know we are able to acquire any services that are needed.

Very efficient without any issues or problems.
Excellent program that is efficient and without issues. East to submit the claim and there were no problems, delays or issues. I haven't had to use much of my personal time to take care of the claims and the payment time is satisfactory.
