Awesome service!!
After having to put down 2 cats due to emergency bills that would have been outrageous I knew when our family decided to get a dog we needed insurance. I was very skeptical if pet insurance was the real thing, but after much investigation and reading reviews we went with trupanion. We have nothing but good things to say so far! Fast and friendly service!

Healthy Paws is the Best!
Several months ago, I was doing the same thing you are probably doing right now... researching pet insurance companies to find the best. I used different resources, one being Angie's List, to do my research. What I found is that hands down, Healthy Paws had the best reviews out of any of the companies.
So here I am 8 months later and I can now honestly say that I made the correct choice. About 2 months after signing up with Healthy Paws, our 3 year old Goldendoodle, Sadie, developed a small bump on the top of her nose and she would yelp anytime anyone would touch her nose. Well, 2 exploratory surgeries, 1 CT scan, numerous X-rays and several drugs later, the vets finally determined the cause of the bump and she is being treated with medication and should make a full recovery within a few weeks.
From start to finish, Healthy Paws was with us the entire way. They paid for everything they said they would. They never once questioned a single charge or Sadie's treatment. As long as she was being treated by a licensed vet, the treatment is and was entirely our choice. Bottom line, they were wonderful. Nearly $6,000.00 in vet bills would of severely impacted our finances for several years. Because of Healthy Paws, that bill was only in the ballpark of $700.00.

Puppy insurance is a good idea.
After our 4 month old Sheltie puppy moved a box of mouse poison in the garage and had an expensive trip to the Emergency Vet Center on a weekend for preventive treatment, we decided to buy pet accident/illness insurance for her. I am now glad we did. About 2 months ago she began limping and, after extensive and expensive tests, our vet is still uncertain what is wrong with her. It has been great to have pet insurance to reimburse our expenses for her.
I am happy with the service we've received so far for our young dog. My chief complaint is that the insurance company uses a "reasonable and customary charge" limit to calculate payment of claims. This information is not accessible to customers or pet professionals so submitting claims is kind of a shot in the dark as far as anticipated reimbursement. We have not always had our claims paid as we thought they should be because of this.
I think pet owners should carefully research insurance companies and policies before deciding to purchase coverage for their pets.

Responsive. Caring. Fast claims processing.
Our 2nd claim. Our dog was diagnosed with bladder stones and needed surgery. I submitted a pre authorization request for a Monday surgery at 5pm central time on a Friday night and had a phone call and approval by 8pm. Fabulous. They worked with our vet to get all the required records and receipts and our checks arrived within a week. I received phonecalls, well wishes and even a follow up call to ask how she was doing after surgery. My dog is my baby, and having her sick and in surgery was traumatic enough for me. The one bright light was knowing Trupanion was there for us and the caring and responsive attention they gave to us. The entire process was seamless from start to finish. I enthusiastically recommend them to anyone and give them my thanks for taking such good care of Bea.

Great coverage
My dog developed a very bad cough and it cost us thousands of dollars treating her. We were able to get about half of the vet costs back which was incredibly helpful. The customer service I received from ASPCA was really great.

Better than all the rest!
I'm familiar with many pet insurance companies from working at vet clinics and filing claims for clients so I knew I wanted to be choosy when selecting a pet insurance company for my dog, Buster. I chose the right company! Buster already had a long health history before we signed him up with Healthy Paws and in the last year and a half they've reimbursed us for over $3,000.00 of his current medical bills, things ranging from orthopedic issues to gastrointestinal disease. Healthy Paws continues to impress me, I wish my health insurance provider was as good to me as Healthy Paws has been to Buster. My new boss is now recommending Healthy Paws to our clients, and a veterinarian friend is recommending them at her practice too!

Glad we had it
Our 10 month pup became very ill with pneumonia type symptoms. It took over 6 weeks and many tests and treatments before Baily was back to normal. The total bill was over $2000. We submitted the bills in two separate payments and probably were reimbursed for about 2/3 the total bill. In the past we have poo-pooed pet insurance but was very glad we had it this time. My main complaint was it took Several weeks for the claims to go thru and the webpage where you can monitor progress is very confusing. We have only had the insurance for less than a year so don't know about the problems with pre-existing conditions clause, although we have Level 3 and I believe that is a continuing care plan.

Excellent Pet Insurance in every aspect.
We have had Embrace as our pet insurance since our yellow lab first came into our lives. Marbles early on has had a hip problem and Embrace has been "Awesome" in dealing with our claims for him. We are a military family so we have had to deal with different vets as well as therapy programs for him and Embrace has been with us every step of the way. They are excellent about e mailing regarding any problems or questions be in to us or our vets. We would highly recommend Embrace to anyone.
