Customer Service

Our dog was seriously ill. She vomited volumes of a clear liquid throughout the night. It was difficult to get her to drink water, but she would drink a lot then not drink again for hours. She couldn't even get out of her bed and take a couple steps to her water bowl. We had to hold it under her mouth. After an examination, blood work and X-ray we learned she had aspiration pneumonia. She had to go on an antibiotic and be on IV fluids for over 24 hours and be monitored in the hospital, she was able to come home. She was on several medications and barely moved from her bed for 3 days. We had to pick her up and carry her outside to go to the bathroom. She is beginning to be more playful, although she had another episode of vomiting 3 times 2 days ago. But that stopped with medication and she didn't need additional in-hospital care. We don't feel we are completely out of the woods yet, but are getting there. Trupanion gave us the ability to approve the medical care we felt was the best and would get us the answers to her problem and the treatment she needed without worrying about the mounting costs.

My vet told me that I should claim all of Nidalee's bills for her recurring urinary issues. I was surprised that even my previous visits were covered. Everything was easy to do online and direct deposit was a huge plus.
