The insurance wasn't really so bad, but when it came time for a big claim, they wouldn't pay. I called them specifically because I didn't think something would be covered and they assured me it would be. I filed all the claims and continued with all the vet visits and "oh by the way, we won't pay that... you should have read the fine print... and it isn't our fault that even though you specifically asked about it that we advised you incorrectly"...

My 7 year old dog tore her cruicient. After trying natural means, I decided on having surgery. The surgery was successful and I kept forgetting to turn in my claim. Finally I called and was told I had 9 months to submit the claim which was good to know and once filed, my check was in the mail in a week. Both my dogs are covered and I feel much better knowing they are insured with ASCPA!

I have a 10 year old dog that VPI had no problem covering .Had only paid my first payment , submitted a claim and got almost all of it back ! S o easy ! I am very happy with my choice

I disagree with what you think is usual and customary costs. I have called around in my area to many vets and never find prices that are what you say are usual. Your claim processing time has been taking over a month. I usually have to dispute something on them, too.

I've been so happy with VPI since I've enrolled 3 years ago. Their claims process is easy and you can track the progress online and their reimbursement is more than fair. My Rottweiler was recently diagnosed with osteosarcoma and had to have a leg amputated. They paid for the entire surgery! I couldnt believe it! He's been accident prone his whole life so this isn't our first claim and they've always been great. I work at a large pet retailer and tell people almost every day to sign up with VPI. I've heard so many disappointing stories about other insurers but I assure you they're the real deal and will be there when you need them most!

When my vet suggested I purchase pet insurance I did lots of research on pet insurance companies. Embrace is the company I decided to try. I have had three claims so far, and Embrace has paid exactly what they stated they would. I was concerned that I would pay in more money than I would ever receive back, because my Old English Bulldogge has bad hips, knees, and allergies and I knew these items would be eliminated from any possible claims. It gives me peace of mind that as my puppy gets older - I'm sure more issues will need care. This is a great loveable breed, but at least in my case - lots of care needs. I would never give her back. She is a very important member of our family. My vet faxes the insurance claim right to Embrace - so when I leave the vet office - I know that my claim will be sent. I received the three checks by mail - but have the option of having it sent directly to my checking account if I choose. So far, I'm very happy with Embrace. In my case, I hope I never have to use the insurance again, but if I do - I have it. I'm impressed so far.

Did a lot of research on Pet insurance when I first started looking into it. Healthy Paws was always near the top. I choose to go with Healthy Paws because of their history of quick claims service and they did not disappoint! I have been a member of two 80lb. dogs for about a year and a half and I could not be happier. During that time my Rottweiler mix has had issues with his ACL in both legs and the meniscus in one as well. All total about $8,400 in surgery and Healthy Paws never questioned any part of it. I typically have my reimbursement check within a couple days of submitting the paperwork. I tell everybody that I ever talk to that has their own pets about Healthy Paws. I could not be happier with them. Its good to know that there are still good companies out there that a person can trust will do what they say they will and not drop you or raise your rates through the roof because if accidents that you can not prevent. My Dogs, 5 year old Chopper and 4 year old Montana will be covered by Healthy Paws for life!!!

Three years ago, we were devastated by the loss of our cat to lymphoma. Despite all the tests and treatments, he lived only a week after the diagnosis. We spent roughly $1,000 per day over that week, all coming out of our own pockets because we had no pet insurance. We vowed never to get into that situation again with our new cats, Bailey and Sophie. After a couple of weeks researching insurance options and reading reviews, we decided that Healthy Paws would offer the best combination of bang for the buck and outstanding customer service. So we signed on, and are we glad we did. Unbelievably, yet again we find ourselves with a kitty who has a blood-borne cancer: in this case, Bailey, who has been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. After we satisfied our $500 deductible earlier this year, we've paid only 20% of the cost of his diagnostic tests and treatment, including chemo. Incredibly, Healthy Paws even reimburses us for the sales tax levied on the chemo! Unlike many other insurers, Healthy Paws has no ceiling on annual or even lifetime expenditures, which is a relief for folks like us who have chronically ill animals. The staff could not be more sympathetic or helpful. Plus the reimbursement checks are issued very quickly after we upload our receipts to Healthy Paws. Great insurance, great employees.
