Kind and helpful
Every time I've called with questions or concerns, every representative has been very kind and helpful. My claims are typically processed very quickly and I see the funds back in my bank account within a few days. I don't know what I'd have done without Trupanion ”they've covered 2 torn CCL surgeries for my dog as well as a third surgery arising from a complication from the initial TPLO. The surgeries and physical therapy have cost just shy of $15,000 so I'm very, very pleased with Trupanion's coverage and customer service.

Fast and easy!
Our puppy got sick from eating rocks (sigh) and had to be seen. Thank goodness for pet insurance! The bill was easy to understand and the service was fast and friendly. Thank you!

Limited prescription food coverage and deducted taxes of prescription food not covered from total reimbursement.
My cat is diabetic and requires insulin and a special diet. After meeting my deductible I submitted a claim for my cats food and insulin. When I received the claim reimbursement, the food was not covered and the veterinary exam not covered. The insulin was reimbursed. However, in addition to not reimbursing me for the food, Trupanion subtracted the taxes paid for the prescription food from the reimbursement for the insulin. I spoke to a representative and a supervisor. They explained that whatever the total tax was on the bill submitted, whether covered or not, would be subtracted from the items covered. In other words, I was paying double taxation. The company said that that is their policy. At this point, it was not so much the amount of money, as the principal. I hope I will have Better luck with Trupanion in the future as I have had 3 cats on the plan for many years with no claims.
