Awesome!
We've had several claims in the short 2 years we've had our dog. Healthy Paws is very efficient. Most recently all I had to do was take a picture of the vet receipt in their app and they processed it the same day. We received our reimbursement a 7 days later.

I LOVE Pets Best
I have been a loyal customer of Pets Best for over 6 years and have sent many people their way to sign up. Although some of the plans have raised in price I so far have still been happy with their coverage and quick responses to paying my bills. Thank you Pets Best

Thank you
The worst thing is hearing your best friend has cancer. I called Trupanion right away and you met me with the help I needed and comforting words. Thank you for the support.

Healthy Paws has your back and then some
You never expect to use insurance, but when your pet is in distress - you need care options. With the extensive procedures that two of my dogs have gone through, I have not been gouged with higher premiums or threat of being dropped. One dog was in the ICU for 2 weeks fighting tetanus - $30k. I couldn't put that on a credit card for reimbursement. Healthy Paws worked with the University for direct payment. Maintenance care for chiropractic alignment and other therapies are covered, and what a noticeable difference it makes for him being a tripawed. I could speak volumes about the people at Healthy Paws - the way they assist you, process claims quickly and send your pet get well cards. I only wish my health insurance was as good and non-complicated as my pets insurance is. If I could find a vet to treat me, maybe I could switch over :) I wish they had information handouts to pass out to others.

Quick and easy coverage for complementary health!
Our dog has suffered from back pain and stiffness for quite some time, and we recently took him in for acupuncture treatment. The treatment really worked wonders for his physical comfort and we also noted big behavioral improvements. I saw in my Embrace coverage documentation that complementary medicine services can be covered for injuries and illnesses, and submitted claims for each of his treatment sessions. I didn't actually anticipate having this service covered, but Embrace covered all of his treatments in full, with no additional documentation or justification needed. Great coverage again from Embrace.

Excellent insurance!!
So happy I got pet insurance for my new puppy! I bought the extra coverage for wellness stuff, which covered spaying and vaccines, but of course my pup had post-spaying problems - during a weekend, of course - and our visits to the Referral Center (emergency vets) and emergency surgery were covered! If only I'd done this with my previous pup, whose mystery GI infection ended up costing me $8000!

Trupanion is a Racquet
Within a month of enrolling with Trupanion my border collie suffered a knee injury after she tripped on uneven ground in our backyard and began limping. My veterinarian diagnosed her injury as CCL strain or partial tear. I got the ball rolling with Trupanion to obtain TPLO surgery pre-approval and was very satisfied with the helpfulness of the representatives that I talked to. However I was not pleased with the outcome of the pre-approval when my claim was denied. It was on the basis that CCL injuries are considered an "illness" rather than an "injury" and at the time we submitted the claim, my dog was not yet past the illness coverage waiting period of 30 days.
I read my policy and understand the waiting periods, but what I don't understand is why my dog's knee INJURY was considered an illness. Upon asking for clarification from Trupanion on illness vs. injury I was told that an injury is caused by an accident while an illness is not caused by an accident. I then asked what is considered an accident. Per Trupanion "To clarify the difference between an accident and an illness, an example of an accident would be something like a pet spraining a leg jumping off a table as opposed to an illness like the animal developing a bacterial infection"
Based on the fact that my dog's injury was indeed the result of an accident, my vet and I worked together to explain to appeal the denial. This process took several months (of which I was paying the monthly premium), and it was denied for a second time. I am so thoroughly disappointed with Trupanion and how they could deny the evidence and testimony given by my vet. I can't stand by a company who claims to be in the best interest of pets and yet finds a way around actually helping them.
I understand that in some situations people can truly benefit from insurance, but in our experience Trupanion was a complete waste of our time and money.
