I highly recommend anyone with a pedigree dog get pet insurance, it's very much worth the additional expense. Trupanion has been there for us & our Great Dane since he was diagnosed with his illness.

Cooper's First Claim
When Cooper my Bernese Mountain Dog got sick, the vet ran lots of tests to determine the reason. Some of the tests were quite spendy. I wasn't sure if my claim was going to be fully covered, but the Lemonade team came through and covered everything except the exam. The claim process was fairly easy and the claim was approved quickly. I'm grateful that the experience turned out to be a positive one!

Strongly recommend
I strongly recommend Hartville pet insurance. First of all, read your policy and know what is covered and what isn’t, and then you won’t be disappointed and leaving poor reviews. That said, this insurance has been fantastic for me and my pets. I have had four dogs under policies and yes, it’s a big expense to carry pet insurance, but the knowledge that I never Have to worry about putting one down because I can’t pay a vet bill is worth the price. Hartville saw me through extensive vet, bills for surgery and cancer treatment for a beloved dog, and I trust them with my others. I certainly don’t know of an affordable health insurance for humans that has a $250 deductible! Customer service has always been excellent.

Unfair calculations
Since, we are responsible for 100% of the deductible, then 100% should be taken off our claim PRIOR to calculating our reimbursement.
Instead of $1000(claim)- $300(30% reimbursement rate)=$ 700- $300 (deductible) =$400 reimbursement
IT SHOULD BE
$1000 (claim)-$300(deductible)=$700- $210(30%reimbursement rate) =$490 reimbursement.
(where we lose).

Insurance for pets is a necessity
As a Field Trial team there was always the possibility of injury in our sport and I took out insurance on Tundra just in case.
Fortunately Tundra finished his career as an Amateur Field Trial Champion with out any major injury.
One evening while relaxing at home, Tundra started to show signed of discomfort and less than two hours later he was in severe distress and showing signs of a bloated stomach. A quick trip to the ER was required.. Needless to say this illness is very serious and could cause death.
Tundra has fully recovered and is back to old self. The treatment cost many thousand of dollars and without the assistance of Tundras insurance I would be financially devastated.

Embrace is Tops
I haven't had to file a claim yet but I want to say that my experience with customer service, with signing up and with the company's willingness to listen to me when I thought they'd made an error in the review of one of my cats medical histories has been excellent. Staff are friendly, cordial, professional, more than willing to help and knowledgeable. So far I couldn't ask for more.
