I bought Trupanion insurance for my Golden Brandon when he was 1 year old, thinking that I wouldn't need it until he was elderly - was I ever wrong! He is an avid tennis ball fanatic & he managed to wear down & destroy all four of his canine teeth before the age of 3. The teeth were dead or dying at the time I took him to a doggie dentist. The options were extraction of all 4 teeth or root canals. I chose the root canals but did not want them to be filled with amalgam (no metal or mercury in my boy's mouth!), so the dentist filled them with a composite material & then took impressions for four crowns which now completely cover the teeth. His teeth look good as new now & there are no toxic compounds in his mouth.I live in New York & the cost was astronomical - $6,710! Thank God for Trupanion: they paid $5,547 and I was only out-of-pocket $ 1,163. I am so grateful not to have had the financial burden of paying for his treatment! I have a doggie daycare business & have since replaced all tennis balls with rubber chuckit balls in the hopes that this doesn't happen to any other dogs. I also recommend Trupanion to all my clients because the peace of mind is priceless! Thank you Trupanion!

My dog, Frankie Rose, is now 4 years old. We have not yet had any emergency situation to deal with (thank goodness!) but I have confidence that any claim we make will be a positive experience. I have received an immediate response by email each time that I have submitted a claim to Embrace for Frankie Rose's annual checkups from the very beginning of my relationship with Embrace Insurance. Any questions I have had have been answered quickly whether I contacted Embrace by email or by phone. Everyone I have personally spoken with by phone has been very helpful. I am very happy that I made the switch to Embrace Insurance when we adopted Frankie Rose.

Thought to myself - does a dog really need insurance? Seems like a ridiculous waste of money. Well, after my pup started eating every sharp and non-digestible item in my house I caved and decided that $10/mo is better than $3000 to remove a mechanical pen from her colon. Anyway, I never used it to remove a pen but when another dog attacked her I was grateful for that insurance. Reimbursement was quick. They covered almost everything and saved me from forking out more than $600 of my savings in vet bills. Won't question this monthly expense anymore.

I learned my lesson the hard way by not having excellent insurance for my beloved Maltese Logan. He needed a Knee replacement and soon after was diagnosis with severe CHF. The medicine was approx. $500 a month and the grand total I needed to borrow from my 401K was $30,000. I am still paying off this loan for 3 more yrs and my beautiful Maltese has been gone 16 months now. I made the mistake of purchasing a "cheap" policy, and you truly get what you pay for!! My family has since welcomed a beautiful Golden Retriever into our lives. I did my homework on breeders and Insurance companies. I needed to know that money would never be the reason I would not be able to give our family pet the best medical care he deserved. The only company I would consider was Trupanion. They must go out of there way to hirer the most compassionate dog loving staff! I choose a policy that would reimburse 90%%of the billed amount with no deductible, and insured my dog at exactly 8wks of age. Everyone thought I was crazy to "waste" money on a healthy pup, but I felt such an urgency to have this dog covered. I could never afford to do what i did out of pocket for my last dog, however we all know once you fall madly in love with your pet there isn't much you wouldn't do for them. To make a very long story short, my beautiful Golden named Chase, was neutered at 8 wks old, We decided to have hip x-rays for a baseline. As my luck would have it, Chase had severe hip dysplasia, 90% Right hip and 70% Left hip.

awesome.....quick turnaround on payment......delivered as promised! 3 year old Golden Retriever...Tucker, ate about 25% of a bath towel. We had rolled up a towel to keep the draft from the front door and unbeknownst to us he chewed it causing severe vomiting and resulting in abdominal surgery! 2300.00 bill and our policy covered 80% and paid us in two weeks! Just 2 weeks later my wonderful dog Virgil was shot by one of our neighbors (nope we don't live in the wild west!!) We live in the Hamptons (WHAT ???) Anyway when we brought Virgil in he was in critical condition and no doubt we were gonna' have a HUGE bill-if he even lived. After 5 days in critical he was ready to come home. He was almost a miracle-they had to remove 2 lungs and then sew him back up. I then sent the bill to Trupanion thinking that they would turn us down-It should be covered but you know how the USUAL insurances work-find a small loophole… I was sooo thankful when the check arrived. Now we had some reward money to try to find out who shot Virgil ! They worked so quickly I was astonished. Now they sent an E-mail to see how Virgil was. I can't say enough good things about Trupanion. Choose this one.
