We decided to get pet insurance as soon as we got our puppy Hotch. We looked around, made comparisons and felt Healthy Paws was the best. 9 months after having it in place, our beloved baby got severely sick. This was 2 weeks ago. He started acting VERY different and you could see he wasn't feeling well in his eyes. His nose felt warmer than usual, and was dripping more than normal. Finally I went to hug him in the morning and he yelped. We immediately rushed him to the vet. He in fact had a fever and his white blood cell count was exceptionally low. They had to keep him to run tests and give him fluids through IV for 2 days. It was the worst experience ever because he has never been sick or had any issues. Needless to say, the vet bill was astronomical. My husband and I definitely could not afford these costs on our own. It is now not even a week since the claim was sent and I have already received confirmation that the claim was accepted and there is a check in the mail. I am completely blown away. This is better than human insurance! They were also available by phone to help me with the process, and communication was constant, prompt, and most importantly friendly. I can feel they care through the messages. From all the horror stories I have heard, and my own experience, I can honestly say that they are the BEST. Healthy Paws pet insurance has done an amazing job with handling my claim and sending me my reimbursement check. I received my check in 3 days. They even checked on my dog, Ruby, to make sure she's okay.
