So glad I made this choice!
Healthy Paws so far has proven to be an excellent choice for my pet's insurance needs. The rates are fair and they are extremely efficient in paying out claims. You can upload bills directly on their site and the claims are paid within 3-4 days. They also sent out an email inquiring about my pet's condition after I submitted a bill for a growth removal and biopsy. I was surprised and happy to know that they care about clients.

Healthy Paws is INVALUABLE!!!!!
Best thing we ever did was to purchase Healthy Paws insurance for our dog, Jake. He had to have x-rays and meds for a hurt paw. My vet submitted the claim and Healthy Paws kept me advised of the status throughout the process. Easy as pie and received 90% of payment the next week. It truly does pay for itself. I tell all my friends with pets that they are crazy not to purchase this. Jake also has a skin condition and Healthy Paws pays for his monthly medication. Simply cant go wrong. And to top it off....best customer service ever!!!!!!

the worst
Find excuses not to pay anything and everything. Accepted a 7 year old showdog, not neutered, now refuse to pay for emergency surgery for life threatening illness (pyometra) because she was not neutered by age one. That was after they said it was because she was (1)a service dog (she is not) then they tried (2) breeding dog (she is not). Letter submitted by vet explaining necessity for surgery. Really bad company.

GREAT Company. The best!
From the signing up, customer service, claims process and payouts everything about Healthy Paws has been nothing short of perfect. They take the time to talk with you and help you get the paperwork from the vet. They pay the claims as promised, quickly!
I recommend them to everyone! I have a french Bulldog and they have their issues and I feel comfortable with healthy Paws. This is my only experience with pet insurance, but so far it has been good. I choose HP based on the review on this site when we got our frenchie and I am happy I did.

Worth every penny - don't hesitate!
My mini wire hair dachshund was in the hospital with seizures for close to a week. This was my first claim and knowing full well the bureaucratic drudgery of people health insurance, honestly, I dreaded it. But the process could not have been simpler, easier, or faster. And the customer service is off the charts. They could not be nicer, every one.

Thanks Healthy Paws!
A week after my insurance kicked in, my dog swallowed a tennis ball. Healthy Paws made it easy to file the claim, and it was accepted and I was sent the check within a week! 3 months later it happened again and same thing. No questions asked, just accepted and sent a check. I highly recommend healthy paws!

Will Say Anything To Deny A Claim
I adopted my cat from a shelter a year ago. She was underweight and I wanted to make sure she was ok, so took her straight to the vet. The vet wanted to do bloodwork due to her weight, and kept her overnight. While there, after being taken from a shelter to a new cage, and fed different food, she vomited a bit of the new food. Bloodwork and a urinalysis ruled out the beginnings of kidney disease (this is noted on her records as ruled out), and she was deemed fine, just thin. I got insurance through Trupanion, after much research, right after I'd adopted her, but it didn't kick in for the 30 days, so didn't cover her original visit, which I knew.
After she came home, she had a couple of instances of vomiting (she is, after all, a cat), once from eating what seemed to be a bad can of food, once from eating some hair and throwing it right back up, etc. As I was a new pet parent, worried about her, I called the clinic to ask about these things. The clinic noted that I'd called and for what in her file.
This year, she was seen for constipation and blood and urinalysis determined she did have kidney disease. I put in claims for this visit and the special food she's now on.
These claims were all denied because of... vomiting. She was not vomiting before the visit that ended up diagnosing her, and previously, kidney disease had been ruled out.
When I was on the phone with the claims rep meant to explain this seeming discrepancy to me, she said that they'd denied the claim because it was a preexisting condition - despite the bloodwork and urinalysis ruling it out previously, because she had previously vomited, which can be a symptom of kidney disease.
The woman said that if I could provide medical evidence that the kidney disease was not preexisting, they'd reconsider.
I pointed out that it would seem blood and urine tests ruling out kidney disease were medical evidence. But, I was told, there was vomiting!
I asked if vomiting was somehow the definitive marker for kidney disease, even when clinical testing ruled it out. Oh, that's not what she was saying, she assured me, but my cat had vomited even after I'd gotten insurance. Yes, so?
"That shows the disease was progressing."
The... disease that was clinically ruled out? The one she didn't have? It was progressing? Yes, I was told.
I asked, if I had a fever, and was checked for Ebola, and the clinical test for it came back negative, and I was shown to have no Ebola virus in my bloo
