Great service!
This was the first year in the many that he's been covered by ASPCA Pet Health Insurance that my cat had any medical needs aside from his regular wellness exam (which his insurance has regularly covered most of) -- and boy was I glad that I've had him insured! Several vet appointments, multiple blood tests, meds, x-rays... the out-of-pocket costs were pretty staggering. Four separate claims -- but then I got my insurance reimbursements, and most of it was covered, and I got reimbursed 80% of what I had paid. The claims were processed quickly, the reimbursements were direct-deposited into my account, and I received follow-up calls from the ASPCA customer service representatives to find out how my cat was doing and if they could be of any further assistance. Fortunately he has fully recovered, is eating well once again, and is one happy kitty!

Excellent Customer Service
I cannot say enough good things about Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. I have made multiple claims and have always received prompt service. Most recently my Theo had an accident resulting in throat and respiratory difficulties. He needed to be put under anesthesia and kept overnight in the Animal Hospital. During this stressful time I was able to have some piece of mind that I had Healthy Paws Pet Insurance to help cover the costs of treatment. I heard back from them within 24-48 hours regarding the approval of my claim. To my surprise I received a follow up email from a Healthy Paws Representative checking on Theo and asking how he was feeling. I was blown away by the personalized customer service provided by this company. Like many others, prior to deciding on a Pet Insurance Company I exhausted myself doing research and reading reviews. I can definitely say that I made the correct choice in going with Healthy Paws. I would recommend them to any Pet Owner. I continue to be blown away by their excellent coverage and their superior customer service. Thank you Healthy Paws!

One Happy Customer
My dog Katy had a procedure to do a root canal. Post surgery - claim was submitted and I was reimbursed the 80% in approximately 3 weeks. Fantastic! What I love about Healthy Paws besides being reimbursed in a timely manner is their accessibility, caring and helpful over the phone and I experienced wonderful communication with them. Their emails of concern over our Katy was so appreciated. I feel the representatives of Healthy Paws definitely strives to go over that %100 of effort. There is a reason I have 3 of my canines with this program. Thank you Healthy Paws.

Amazing Service & They TRULY Care About Your Pe
I was scared when my cat did something out of the ordinary and swallowed plastic and we had to take him to the vet. But it wasn't just the anesthesia, X-rays, and other procedures that scared me--it was the price tag as well. ASPCA covered a lot of my claim AND they were truly concerned about my cat's health, making sure they asked about his health every time they called to go over the claim. It was really sweet and they made a really scary experience so much better/easier to deal with. THANK YOU!

Thanks
I am so very satisfied with my ASPCA pet insurance. My Rotti had a lump and had to go in for surgery. The lump ended up being cancer, but the vet said we just need to monitor it. Through the entire process the representatives at the ASPCA took the stress and worry off my mind and processed my claim quickly. I was so happy I didn't have to worry about my claim processed and I could focus soley on my baby. They called as follow up and also sent nice cards which I thought was such a special touch. I would recommend the ASPCA insurance to all my friends.

Healthy Paws is Amazing!
At seven months, my puppy has had several hospital visits already. Recently, she suffered a serious case of diarrhea and her doctor wanted to run a series of tests and x-rays to determine the cause. The bill was well over $1,500.00. I was completely overwhelmed, but it was a relief to have such great insurance that covered ninety percent of the cost. I am secure knowing that I do not need to avoid taking my pet to the hospital in fear of a large medical expense. Thank you Healthy Paws!

The worst
Another contrived denial for an exam performed right before infusion by my dog's oncologist. This on the heels of denying a life threatening spay for pyometra although the dog was enrolled at age 7 with clear representation that she was intact, but not breeding or service/therapy dog which requires a rider, and in the face of a phone call and letter from the vet.
Please tell me how you can inject drugs into a dog without examining him first. The bottom line is that half of the bill is denied, then they pay 90% of the balance. That makes the real payment 40% on an ongoing basis because no vet in their right mind would treat a dog with chemotherapy (or anything for that matter) without examining. Moreover, not every exam involves blood work or x-rays, which they would probably deny as well. Sometimes it involves manual examination, which was the way we found my last dog's lymphoma. By their rules, that would be denied every time the doctor checked him to see if the nodes were swollen, a primary diagnostic tool for this kind of cancer.
I think their advertising is fraudulent and misleading. I really dislike this company.

so-so
OK, so, granted, I chose Trupanion and they have reimbursed us a lot of money for our dog that suffers sever allergies. And that has been good. They have a direct deposit for claims and claims are handled very quickly. Another good thing about them. We have 2 dogs, one is young the other not. Our biggest gripe is They ONLY cover dental extractions, so the anesthesia and cleanings are always out of pocket, though cleanings prevent extractions, so go figure. Customer Service is cheerful as long as everything goes quickly and smoothly. Also, often the reps talk at you. Like a car salesman, they don't really want to slow down and hear the customer. connecting to a client is good, but if the rep does not sympathize, that;s fine, just don't make the client feel like they're wasting your time. As soon as a problem arises, they become curt and rush you off the phone. not cool.
