Better than nothing

Embrace seems to be oblivious to the fact that dogs that swim sometimes develop ear problems that have nothing to do with allergies, and making that category of ear issues a preexisting condition for unrelated skin issues makes no logical sense whatsoever. They also don't seem to understand the difference between notes and a diagnosis. Let me state up front that I have no problem with the "preexisting conditions" clause, as long as it's truly a preexisting condition. What I am referring to here is the Embrace taking a very long stretch to tie things together that are not true preexisting conditions, and then using that as an reason to not pay claims. In May 2013 my vet noted a mild irritation in my flatcoated retriever's ears. He never received any diagnosis or treatment, and I corrected it by cleaning his ears. No problem. In April 2014 my dog developed an infection on one leg and an irritated place of unknown origin on another foot, which we treated. When I submitted the claim Embrace first rejected it because of the note about an ear irritation in 2013, which had nothing at all to do with what was going on this past April. The vet had to write several letters to Embrace that were very clear that the ear irritation in 2013 and the infection and irritation on the foot were unrelated, and Embrance eventually paid off on the infection but not on the unknown irritation. Now Embrace has "reset the calendar" on ANY skin or ear problems. Anything that hap

Very fast claim processing and payment

My dog got nasal cancer and Trupanion was there every step of the way when I needed it the most. Trupanion paid for all the tests and treatments including radiation.

Grateful for Trupanion

We switched to Trupanion based on our vet's recommendation in April 2014 and could not be happier. Our Nena came upon a bit of a rough patch right after signing up and so grateful we did. Trupanion has helped us make it easier to keep Nena healthy.

wellness exams and vaccinations are free

I have two yorkies who visit the vet routinely. Not just to be treated for sickness but to receive wellness visits to stay healthy. The visits cost me $200. and I receive the $200.00 back from Embrace just for health checkups and vaccinations! cant beat those numbers and the little guys are happier and healthier. Outstanding coverage and superb customer service!

We adopted Layla at age 5 from a rescue organization. We were very pleased Healthy Paws approved her for coverage in spite of her very limited medical history we were able to provide when we submitted her application. Seven months after enrolling her, she acutely developed a severe limp. Her diagnosis was a torn ACL, which required surgery. Our bill was approximately $3500 and Healthy Paws paid 80 percent. The day after I submitted the claim, I received an e-mail that the claim was completed; the check arrived in the mail within 5 business days. A representative from HP sent an e mail 2 weeks later check on her progress. I could not be more pleased with this insurance. They are efficient, claims are paid in a timely and accurate manner, and they take personal interest in our pet. I had experience a number of years ago with another pet insurance company, and there is no comparison. Healthy Paws sets the standard for the pet insurance industry.

So glad that I have Healthy Paws Pet Insurance

There are many pet insurance companies out there, but I found Healthy Paws easy to understand and that is why I chose them. Having just recovered from surgery myself, we have many bills to pay. Mr. Lincoln, our Greyhound, developed a leak and infection in one of his salivary glands. The gland had to be surgically removed and the surgery was done by a specialty vet. My husband and I knew it would be an expensive surgery. I filed the claim form directly online. It was all so easy. We received emails from Healthy Paws when everything was received; when the claim was being processed; and when the check was cut. The money sure helped our finances at this time. We also felt that everyone was so kind in asking us about Mr. Lincoln's condition. Luckily Mr. Lincoln is doing fine and we learned that a dog can live well with just 7 of his 8 salivary glands. Thank you again Healthy Paws Pet Insurance.
