My late pet who died at 15 years old is of course gone. Our new pet is Augy, 7 months. I had a different insurer for our late pet, but this time I went with Trupanion. So far I am extremely pleased. I went out for a few hours and when I came home my dogWas laying in a pile of drool and was so dizzy, swaying back and fourth. My dog is an 8 pound yorkie. I immediately called my vet and took her in. They suspected toxicity from something my dog ate. After xrays they found out it was something stuck in her stomach. An estimate was sent to trupanion who responded within the hour to let me know everything would be covered. They even called me to let me know. My vet bill began increasingly getting larger and larger. It was such a relief to know I had trupanion to help me out!! My bill ended up being 1500 and I left only paying 250.00. I am so thankful for trupanion, you never know if something will happen to your dog and such a relief to know trupanion is there to back you up. I would definitly recommend trupanion!

Our miniature schnauzer developed bladder stones that did not dissolve with medical therapy, so he eventually required surgery. Trupanion covered 90% of all the medical AND surgical treatment, INCLUDING 50% coverage of the expen$ive prescription dog food. They respond quickly to previously approved covered conditions and the reimbursement arrives in a timely manner. It does take a little while initially for them to obtain all your vet records and approve an initial claim (some vet offices are unresponsive), but if you help them out by getting vet record copies yourself and emailing them to the company, they accept them and it greatly expedites the process.

My fur baby Precious has been with Healthy Paws for almost a year now. Recently she had stopped eating, sleeping alot and was just plain sick. I rescued a much older dog three months ago. When I picked him up from the rescue, he had no known health issues or pre-existing conditions other than bad joints. That said, within one week of having him, we were at the ER and then vet for a tick borne illness that has taken us months to treat. He also has a weak stomach lining but to get to the bottom of both of those issues, we had numerous vet visits and costs associated with it. Trupanion was offered to me the day I rescued my dog and to be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect of it. I am so grateful they approached me from day one and that I had it when I did. It has saved me a lot financially but a lot more importantly, has put me at ease about finding him the best care. lastly, their customer service is excellent. They always pick up the phone, answer my questions quickly and confidently and they respond back to your claims within one week.
