Make sure you read the fine print. Quite a bit is not covered for the 1st year of service and we were left with paying more than 3000 out of pocket for things that would have been covered after the first year. This company wants to make sure they take enough of your money up front before they start covering anything major.

I have never been more pleased with a company.
We were skeptical at first about getting pet insurance. I have had friends that fight for months to get money back on claims. With Nation Wide we get our claims processed so quickly. I think our last check took 2 or 3 weeks and we got hundreds back. Every claim is so easy to fill out, fax in or submit online. you get an email in a day or 2 stating they received your claim. Next thing you know you get your 90% back after your deductible is met. They break it down in such a way anyone can understand and read the explanations. I have never had one issue with this company. Awesome job you guys! I just signed up for another year. I sleep better knowing my dog is protected in case of emergencies and also for regular vet check ups. I wish I could find a human insurance company this efficient!

Claim review
The customer service reps are friendly enough, but I'm very frustrated with the amount of time it's taking to review a claim for a condition that was CLEARLY not pre-existing. I filed my initial claim back in April and since then I've only gotten letters stating that more time is needed.
At one point Nationwide said they needed to see paperwork from my "four other vets." Knowing I do not have 5 vets I looked at my records and noticed that they took the legal name of a shot clinic (the 4Pets Clinic) to mean that I was seeing other vets. A simple and hilarious error, but not one that should still be unresolved 3 months after filing a claim!
My wellness claims have been processed very timely. It's just the injury claim that is taking a suspiciously long time.

App is easy and intuitive to submit. Processing time is acceptable.
Like the easy and efficiency to submit claims and receive funds. Would like better explanations when claims are not covered.

This insurance has really been a blessing for us.
This has really been a blessing for my wife and I because we were sold a sick dog and Bella has been back and forth to the vet. Without AKC insurance we might have had to give Bella up something neither of us want to do

Excellent insurance for your furry family member
They have all been great. The only problem was when I first started they were very behind in claims so it took about 3 weeks to get reimbursement. Since then it’s only a couple of days.

Pleasant and attentive
Well it's affordable. The people are soo pleasant and attentive. They answer all our question and they never forget to ask you at the end of the conversation "tell Parda we at trupanion says hello!" Now that's family and it brings warmth to my heart that they real pet lovers.
