Prompt & no red tape
A real lifesaver when confronted with a very ill dog & high Vet bills. We hope we'll never need to use it, but are very comforted that it's always there; our safety net,

Insurance great for my 9 yr. old cat.
I have a 9 yr. old neutered Siamese cat I got from Siamese Rescue when he was two. He had very bad gingivitis resulting in my having to have most of his teeth extracted at age three; a very expensive vet bill resulted. After that he was very healthy until age 9 when he suddenly became ill with acute kidney failure. I quickly took him to my veterinarian where he was hospitalized for 5 days, came home for two, but relapsed and was hospitalized again for another three days. He has gradually recovered and is doing well with twice a week hydration and a phosphate blocker added to his food twice daily (he will not eat prescription kidney food). Luckily, I had taken out insurance on him with Trupanion the year before. Even with an $800 deductible, the insurance started picking up 90% of the eligible charges for the first hospitalization and has been paying 90% on all the subsequent charges connected with my cat's ongoing kidney disease. This has been a great relief to me as vet bills for some illnesses can be astronomical. I also have another cat insured with Trupanion and feel confident that I will be able to do my best for her if she has any unexpected medical problems. I consider my insurance premiums to be money very well spent!

Easy and fast with exceptional follow through
The vet submitted the claim via fax after business hours. The next day were were notified the claim had been received. The following day we were notified it was paid with a summary. The same thing happened when the second vet involved faxed a claim. Great customer service and constant follow-up. Wish our own human medical insurance worked so well.

Claims processing was excellent, very satisfied
My miniature schnauzer showed signs of difficulty urinating, called the emergency hospital and was told to bring her in which we did.. Testing was done and showed she had a bladder stone which was passed via catheter. The next day she had an appointment with her regular vet for a follow up.
Both claims from the emergency hospital and her vet were processed within 5 days. I was very satisfied with the service and would highly recommend this insurance.

Poor coverage... read fine prnt.
My dog is covered for illness and I keep up with rountine care, testing, and vaccinations. We got our dog one year ago from rescue shelter and he was heart worm negative. I have kept up giving him Trifexis . With yearly updates, i found out he was positve for heartworms. My vet tells me that sometimes you can get a false negative ??? Pets Best tells me that heart worm treatment is covered on routine/wellness care ONLY and will NOT cover his heart worm treatment. I am sorry, my dog contacted heart worms when I did everything right and is no longer WELL. He is recoveing and will be looking for another insurance!!!!! My vet has given me some recommendations.
