Affordable and easy
Buying insurance with Pets Best was easy and fast. The rates are affordable and they offer a few different options for plans. Filing a claim was easy and done online within minutes. My claim was approved and went towards my chosen deductible which is what I expected would happen. It did take almost 2 months to process my claim as they were very busy but I was kept up to date during the wait. So far I am very happy with this insurance and have recommended it to others.

Good insurance
My dog developed Addison’s disease three years after getting him at 8 weeks. Pet’s Best has covered his prednisone and glucocorticoid monthly shots and it has been a very helpful role on their policy . My only complaint is that before I got the Pet’s Bed policy my pet got a right ear infection . This was not covered . However , since getting the policy my pet has had a left ear infection and they will not cover the left ear infection even though it came after the policy was obtained and in effect . Otherwise they have been very good .

Beware of MetLife!
I adopted my cat 11/28/23 from a shelter. I signed up for pet insurance for her at the shelter. The shelter provided all information and there was a clean bill of health and no pre-existing condition which was provided to MetLife Pet Insurance. The cat developed gas and diarrhea a little while after adoption. Pet insurance clearly states that is active immediately there is no waiting period. I hit my deductible I submitted my claims and sure enough they denied me. They claim she has a pre-existing condition because it started shortly after adoption. That is not a pre-existing condition it's a condition that arose after I adopted her and now they are claiming I have to go through an appeal process which can take upwards of 45 days. People get insurance for a reason for emergencies when they need it so they are covered. Clearly they are a company who does not stand by their word that claims your pet is insured from the moment you get the plan unless it's a pre-existing condition which there is absolutely no documentation of such prior to signing up for the plan. What happens if you can't afford the test your pet dies you have to get a lawyer and pursue this legally? I noticed they don't have a spot to put reviews on their website only the shining ones that they post. I can see why that is. I would strongly suggest looking into another pet insurance company do not waste your time and your money for them to look for loopholes and not back up their plan.

Trupanion
Trupanion is just a caring, upstanding company who puts animals first. Our dog Max has cancer and we really couldn't of done it without having an insurance company like Trupanion whose dedication hard work is most certainly what our Max and ourselves needs.

So Glad I Got Pet Insurance
Healthy Paws insurance was a lifesaver when my pup ruptured her CCL Christmas Eve and needed surgery a week later. There was a bit of a hiccup getting the various computer systems at HP to accept and combine health records, which resulted in delay in processing the bill for the emergency room visit. However, once this was cleared up, the bill for the actual surgery was processed and money auto deposited within 48hours of submitting the claim.
One other thing (clearly spelled out in the policy, but good to remember) is that this plan covers “treatment” (X-rays, surgery, medicine) but not fees for office visits or consultations.
Explanation of benefits was very clear and customer service employees were very helpful.
I took the dog to Spry Companions in Centennial CO, where both doctors have over 10 years experience with CCL surgery and it was a great experience.

do not treat their long time costumers well.
We have been with pets plus us since 2017 when we got our puppy. Recently we were double charged ( the month of december) great timing with christmas. We called to find out why and they said their mistake, they didnt charge the month prior so they had to double charge. While we were on the phone the staff was confirming all our information. We had realized that we hadn't changed our home address with them when we moved 2 years ago. We asked why this is important, she said it makes a difference for the payments. OK. We gave her our new address and she said the payment had dropped significantly. We were paying 76.00 monthly ( living in DT ottawa), and with our new address it dropped down to 35.00 which we were stocked about since we were already paying so mich monthly. We said we cannot back date but your next payment in Januuary will reflect the changes. Come January payment no changes made. We called to find out why only to be told thats not true and our payments did not change. Told them to refer to notes on call, listen to call recording of the phone call. We were rudly told theres nothing they can do and basically that we were making it up and our payments didn't change. When asked to speak to a supervisor/manager about the incident we were told the call back time was 8-10 bussiness days. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? 8-10 days to speak to a supervisor. This is ridicously. For long time customers. Totally unacceptable. I will be looking elsewhere.

Great help for procedure prior to med use
This claim was for a procedure done prior other medical procedures our vet had recommended. The vet's office wanted to make sure our cat's heart could manage the effects of anesthetic used during the procedures. We appreciate the thoroughness of the review of the claims department personnel.

Amazing!
I just can not give this company enough praise. I want to say that I have never had any sort of medical instance for as quickly and stress free, dog or human.
In a very quick turn of events we went from seeing a vet for a consult to our dog having surgery. It was such an easy process and the staff at the hospital told us the Trupanion was the best. “They are super quick with pre-approvals and usually settle within a day.”
You never know when you purchase insurance, will it really be what they are selling? But we had gotten the 90/10 ratio coverage for our French Bulldog. And yes, they paid 90% of the bill.
With our deductable and our co-pay we paid about 1,000$ on a 6400$ bill. I can’t tell you how important it is to get pet insurance. I can’t imagine having to sit in that room, hear what your pet needs and wonder if you have enough money in your savings for it. Or if you have a credit card with enough to cover it. Something that could have been stressful was just not a worry. I kept saying, “no problem, we have good insurance” and they truly proved it.
I will always have pet insurance and it will always be with Trupanion!

Love them!
The only thing that holds up payment is my lack of filing the claim. They are always helpful when I call, and take care of my claim in a timely manner.
