CJ, my English Cream Golden Retriever (almost 2 years) was dealing with diarrhea, losing weight, stomach pain and once in a while vomiting. My vet had a suspicion that CJ has IBD. To be sure CJ needed an intestinal biopsy which is the only way to find out IBD. It hurts to see your pet in pain and I wanted him to get the right treatment, so he can have fun again. Healthy Paws gave me such great support. Whenever I called they were friendly kind and very helpful. My claim was processed within a week and the greatest was when I received an e-mail from Healthy Paws where I was asked how CJ is feeling. We've had Trupanion since we got our dog, Ferris, when he was 1.5 y/o. He was born with idiopathic megaesophagus and requires feeding via a g-tube becuase his esophagus doesn't work. Unfortunately this was considered a pre-existing condition and not covered; thus we've encountered much expenses. Alas this is not a burden but an honor to do for our baby. All was well till recently when he was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was scared because there is no real cure and also because of the costs. I didn't think Trupanion would cover anything and was about to cancel it. But the Lord takes care of his children. Trupanion covered the sick visits, work up, specialist, hospital stay, medicines and all chemo and immunotherapy treatments! Thank you Trupanion for helping during these difficult times and letting us concentrate on our baby instead of expenses. The hospital told us they see numerous pet parents that cancel their insurances rght before horrible/expensive diagnoses and then it's too late; parents don't think they'll ever need it or that Trupanion will cover things. We're now recommending to everyone to get Trupanion as soon as possible (preferably at young ages) and never to cancel. Our family and Ferris thank you Trupanion!

My dog recently had an ear infection, which was not a pre-existing condition and yet Embrace denied the claim. The "reason" cited was that somehow the ear is related to a dermatological condition. The Veterinarian could not believe this bogus reason for denying the claim since an inner ear infection is of course NOT a dermatological condition. If Embrace does not reprocess and pay I will never renew this insurance and plan to address this in my newspaper column. As a consumer advocate, I try to give the benefit of the doubt, but this is ridiculous. Like my Veterinarian, I am incredulous.

Trupanion has been a "lifesaver" for me and my two rescue Pomeranians. Claims have been handles quickly and efficiently. Any time I have talked with a representative my questions and concerns have been addressed. Thanks so much for your continued support!!!

I've had Trupanion for 6 years now and have 7 animals insured. My 17 year old cat has Hyperthyroid and, as a result, has ongoing issues. Trupanion has always taken care of the claims quickly. I can't stress enough...DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR ANIMAL IS ILL TO GET INSURANCE. IF you insure them immediately upon adoption/purchase you'll love dealing with this company. I have always had more than a pleasant experience with them. For years I didn't have to make claims, however, over the last 12 months I've had claims paid on 5 of my 7 animals. The overall amount paid out by Trupanion was over $12,000. These policies allow me to provide top notch care for my fur kids :) The staff are ALWAYS wonderful to deal with and nice to chat with. IF you are shopping for insurance please consider this company...you won't be disappointed!
