Bilateral Cherry eye- not covered
I did my homework, research asked questions sat on the "buy" button for months then my English Bulldog developed her first cherry eye before I hit the buy button. At that time she was young and mischievous and started chewing on a wooden basket she wound up poking her eye and needing an emergency cornea transplant. When I called Trupanion, I explained that she already had an expensive cherry eye/cornea transplant surgery ($6000). I was scared to go through that again with no insurance. The nice sales person told me that with the insurance I will have a piece of mind knowing that my Lilly would be taken care of.....? Clearly she didn't mean that my new Trupanion insurance policy would take care of her. Here we are months later and close to $1000 in insurance policy payments, with no return on the 5 claims we had including cherry eye on the other eye, sick appointments, and spayed. So I have spent close to $10000 on these appointments and $1000 on non existing insurance..... I wish I had seen this site when I was researching because I am paying the price. I could have put that $1000 towards her bills. Someone mentioned putting that money into a savings account for vet bills. That sounds like a great idea!

Love the wellness rider!
I've had other policies before, but none that covered general maintenance. ASPCA helps cover vaccinations, heart worm tests and preventative care. All These can add up. My claim was processed very quickly.

Highly Recommended....
I purchased Embrace Insurance on the word of my sister-in-law for my newly adopted Beagle. I thank her every day. My furbaby recently had chocolate poisoning and an accident hurting her neck and a tear to her ACL. This Insurance has been wonderful and processed my claims within 4 weeks. My baby now has to undergo surgery and I know Embrace will be there for us. This Company will always be there when needed. I recommend Embrace.

always dependable, peace of mind
I had some cases when my pup got sick and the vet asked if we wanted to follow certain course of treatment and for a moment I wondered, what is the other option, let her suffer, or worse? And then I realize, some treatments are so expensive it is a valid question from the vet. I, like most pet owners, would do anything for my pet, but that comes with a price, well Healthy Paws has always been there, and the reimbursement checks come back quickly and without questions!
I mentioned this to other dog owners in the park and I'm glad some of them took notice, so far three of Bella's friends (Spot, Saxon and Coco) had similar experiences with Healthy Paws, the best!

Wonderful customer service!
My dog was having seizures and required an MRI and spinal tap to determine the cause. Embrace pre-approved the procedures and once the diagnosis was made, I received a check from Embrace very quickly. I found that medication costs were quickly reimbursed as well. The customer service is exceptional. The representatives are courteous and attentive. So happy I have this insurance.

It's worthwhile
I have an eight and a half year old lab mix. She tore both ACL's and had three surgeries before she was 4 years old. Without pet insurance I would still be paying back what I owed. The only drawback is if your pet comes down with an ailment in your coverage year, and the ailment returns after your policy renews, your pet is no longer covered unless your pet is "cured" for 180 days. That is the only reason why I will not rate this service a perfect 10.

Skyhigh Premium Increase
I have multiple pets insured with Pets Best and have always founds them to be responsive and speedy on reimbursing claims. My now-10 year old domestic short hair cat's policy recently came up for renewal and and I was stunned to see the rates rise from $416. (including multi-pet discounts) to $532.00, a nearly 30% increase. When I called to complain, I spoke with a representative (Jennifer) who gave me the old line about increased risk, location, breed of animal, etc.
And I do understand that a rate increase would be in order as a pet's age increases. But 30%? And, I wondered during our conversation, what happens when the pet turns 11, 12, 13? Since my cats and dogs) have generally reached a ripe old age, at what point does the cost become too prohibitive to continue to insure a pet? Jennifer's response was that there was no guarantee that the rate would not keep rising.
What really got a laugh from me was Jennifer's comment that sometimes rates go down. I asked her for an example and she stated that young pets tend to have more accidents and illnesses that lessen as they get older. I then wondered why my four-year old rescue, whom I adopted as a baby, has yet to see a reduction in premium. (I just renewed his policy for nearly $500.00).
Pet insurance is, without doubt, a valuable tool to safeguard our pets; however, the exponential rate increases will eventually put most people out of the market as their pets age.
Absent these ever-increasing premium hikes, my overall rating would have been close to the top; however, because of the incessant costs of insuring pets, I have to lower my rating to a 5.

Embrace takes the worry out of pet insurance.
My cat, who's a foodie, was losing weight and we weren't sure why. My vet examined her thoroughly and had blood work done. Embrace covered the exam and blood work costs, and I had no worries.
