Our family is so thankful for Healthy Paws.
As first time pet parents, we almost didn't get pet insurance, but after some research we decided to go with Healthy Paws "in case anything ever happened." It was one of the best decisions we ever made. Salem, a mischievous and lovable 4 year old cat, has put us through multiple foreign body removals and has now gone through surgery to remove 3 mast cell tumors from his right side. We would do anything for this cat, but without Healthy Paws we wouldn't be able to afford his care. The Claims always go through quickly and are very simple to upload, and, most importantly, there is no lifetime max like with other companies! Team members at Healthy Paws even reach out to see how Salem is doing. I cannot express how grateful I am to Healthy Paws for providing coverage for Salem and keeping the fuzzy member of our happy family healthy.

Great Pet Insurance
Have had many dogs over the years and never thought about pet insurance until I got my first GSD puppy Max. Not only is he covered for health but for Wellness exams too. He will be three at the end of this month and doing very well with only claims for the Wellness visits. Recently he had a growth removed from his right hind paw. I was able to send the preliminary costs to Embrace for review and approval of coverage before the surgery. Max is doing great and I love the fact that I can fax in the claims, get an email that it was received and then an email when the claim was paid and deposited to my back account. With such a special dog I can't image not having this coverage for Max.

ASPCA gives us peace of mind.
Bella's was diagnosed with leptospirosis right before the holidays. We are blessed that she is well and twice blessed because we were reimbursed for a good bit of what we paid. The vet's office processed the claim and in a reasonable amount of time the claim was processed. Our vet recommended ASPCA Insurance and we are glad we took his advice.

I am very gratefull to Nationwide Insurance
I have had pet insurance for the past 18 years on my beloved Billy. During that period I had three major disasters that I don't know what I would have done if it weren't for Nationwide. When Billy was 13 he needed Knee surgery which was very costly and Nationwide stood by us and paid their portion of the claim. When Billy was 16 he had Vestibular Syndrome. We had to take him to the Emergency ward and the cost was extremely expensive. Nationwide took on quite a bit of the burden. And lastly when Billy was 18 he developed incurable Cancer and unfortunately passed away. The last few days I the emergency hospital was very expensive but not only did Nationwide help us pay part of the bill, they returned the premium for that period. I am truly grateful. I now have a new puppy and after looking at other alternatives. I chose Nationwide, since I feel that they are the best.

Best insurance for emergencies.
I have 2 dogs, both strays. One was a stray from Panama (Chooki) which I brought over with me to Miami and the other we adopted from our local shelter (Louie). From day 1, Louie was sick with pneumonia, kennel cough, and high fever. The day after we picked him up from the shelter we were dropping him off at an overnight animal hospital to run tests and get an IV. We spent almost $2,000 that first night! And at the time, we had insurance with Pet Smart "Bansfield". They only covered preventative costs, such as shots, regular visits, and ear cleanings. Since my pets were really healthy, I didn't see the need to switch the insurance, until that night.
While at the hospital, I picked up a brochure for Healthy Paws and the lady at the front desk told me she used that insurance for her 2 pets and it was really good. I switched and actually paid less than what I was paying with Banfield. I paid $25 for each pet a month and downloaded the app on my phone. The insurance had a $200 deductible and covered 80% of medical bills. What I liked about it was that it was completely opposite from Bansfield, in that it didn't cover preventative medical care, but everything else. Which was fine, cause most places have plans where you can pay a 1 time fee of $60 and it covers their shots for life. Plus I don't take them to the vet unless something is wrong, they get their ears cleaned at the groomers.
I was worried that if Louie got sick again, we would be out of pocket another couple of thousand dollars. Both dogs are very healthy, but Louie is that kind of dog that is prone to swallowing anything and everything around the house! I once pulled an entire bandanna (from the groomers) out of his butt, he had swallowed it whole!
So just 2 weeks ago, he decided to swallow a sock he found in the house somewhere. My husband and I didn't know what was wrong with him, but he was constantly throwing up, had no appetite, and a high fever for 2 days. We took him to the animal hospital, they did an xray, and sure enough found out that he had swallowed a sock and it was stuck in his intestines, not allowing anything to pass through and damaging his organs. They had to go into surgery to remove the sock immediately to avoid causing further damage to his intestines. We were nervous about the surgery and about how much this would cost us, since we had never had to use our insurance before.
When the final bill came: diagnosis, surgery, anesthesia, medication, everything totaled to

15000 $ bills - paid ZERO
Our beloved Lab puppy had a Coccidia infection which caused an intussusception. That was in the waiting period so they didn't pay anything for treatment - that's ok.After that, she needed two more surgeries and a lot of medication due to 2 intussusceptions (in other parts of her intestant, and not connected to Coccidia).
They declined to pay anything because they say it's all related to the Coccidia infection and so in the waiting period and so - Zero. We asked them for a review what they did through their "third-part vet". This vet stated the same, which we knew before as these vets are biased (they are paid by the insurance company). We offered a review by a "real" third-party vet at our expense which they declined.
They are extremly customer-unfriendly (not responding to emails, not providing details, and so on). They never wanted to pay anything right from the beginning.
We are almost broke now. The worst insurance company I ever had to deal with (and I work in the insurance business, btw). Sad but true.
