Awesome
Last Summer my eldest cat Shubert developed hyperthyroidism, he required radioactive iodine, his care was several thousand dollars. I am so grateful I had the savings to cover it, however it was a wake up call for me. I have a total of 4 cats, all between 14-15 yrs. They have been healthy all their lives but they are aging and with aging come unexpected health issues. I decided to consider health ins. to assist me in the event of issue so that I could continue to give my cats the best possible care. The ASPCA has been helpful since day one. The customer support person set me up with a plan that was affordable and specific to each of my cats needs. Since signing up last Sept. I have had a couple of minor incidents, the claims process is simple, convienient, and fast. The claims process people are always kind, compassionate, and helpful. I feel they truly do care about me and my pets. They call and follow up to see how my cats are doing. It is a relief to me to have the ASPCA there if I need them. Thank you so much!

Trupanion is Man's Best Friend's Best Friend!
This is (unfortunately) our second major surgery with our yellow lab, who is only 3 years old (not including his neutering). Trupanion has been absolutely wonderful! Our bill was 90% covered, and a check to us was cut within a week, making the financial strain not a factor as we worried about our furry child. This time around, we also wound up having three follow up visits due to an infection, and yep...those were covered, too. We did not have pet insurance with our first dog (a chocolate lab), mostly because at the time pet insurance wasn't really around, and we calculated that we probably spent about $10,000 over his 15 1/2 years due to his chronic ear infections. The money we pay each month for Trupanion's pet insurance is the best money we have ever spent! Needless to say, we hope to never need Trupanion's services again, but knowing our lab.... It's comforting to know that should we need it, Trupanion is there to help!

All Customer Service should be this great
My dog, Brady, a Morkie, recently became ill. I had to take her to the vet while on vacation in Florida. She's my baby, and her health is of the utmost concern to me, and thankfully, the vet was able to give her fluids and meds to make her feel better. But, ooh boy the sticker shock of the bill. I was grateful that I had insurance. I submitted my claim and emailed customer service. They are incredibly prompt with response, and genuinely kind. They processed my claim within 2 days. I'm very glad I picked Healthy Paws, and would recommend them to anyone.

Thankful we could do the treatments!
Our 5 year old German Shepherd Otto was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in August 2013. Just the initial surgery to remove the tumor and submit it for a histopathology and then follow up xrays, blood and ultrasounds when it came back positive ran us over $1000. This did not include the cost of the evaluation with a specialist and subsequent chemo treatments at nearly $900 a visit. Two things made this possible-a special credit card for medical expenses that includes pet expenses and our Embrace pet insurance. As an insurance agent, I am familiar with the jargon, exclusions, and the need to jump through hoops for a claim to be paid. However, with Embrace, it was simple--1 form completed by the vet and the receipt with details of the services. That was IT! Embrace allowed us to use a credit card (something we try to avoid) to pay the initial bills and then with the reimbursements, we are paying that balance down in significant payments. It has meant everything to us to be able to treat Otto without having to stress about how we're going to pay for it. Sure, it's not 100% but its enough that we can manage it. He is worth every penny we've spent and we're hopeful that with continued treatment and management, we'll have him with us a few more years.
Additionally, the staff that handle the claim respond quickly to inquiries and we are regularly kept informed of the claim process. I'm so glad we chose Embrace for our pups.
Thank you!

end of life
it was such a relief to know that as my cats progressed to the end of their lives (my girl was 12 at passing and her twin brother made it to 15), I was able to make decisions based on what was best for them knowing that I would receive financial assistance from their insurance plans. (I do agree with another reviewer though, that the "stacking" of pre-existing conditions is not helpful and I was fortunate that their illnesses happened to be contained within a plan year.) When I finally had to make the "big decision", it was because it was in their best interests, not for financial reasons. Pet insurance helped me make decisions in my pets' best interests, not solely based on financial matters. Also, the customer service reps have always been very kind and helpful and even the euthanasia claim was paid quickly.

Doing Much Better
Kodi was a very lucky pup. He injested something that he picked up thus causing him to become very lethargic and toxic. Thwe vet checked his vitals and did blood work ascertaining low white blood cells indicating some type of problem. She gave him fluids and liquid charcoal to remove the toxins from his system. When he went to his own vet he rechecked his blood work and his red blood cells were still not where hew wanted them so we are trying to figure out how to get them back up. we are trying to determine if he might have a parasite. As of right now he's holding his own but we will be be doing some more tests next week.

Very friendly and knowledgeable customer service representatives. Received insurance check within a week of surgery. They emailed me to make sure I received the insurance payment and if I had not they were going to followup to find out where the check was. Glad I decided to take out pet insurance throug this company.
