Trupanion has been wonderful for me and my little girl Muffin - I rescued little Muffin and then later she ruptured a disc in her middle back due to degenerative disc disease which you cant possibly know when you adopt them. Trupanion was there thru all her surgery and recovery after she was paralyzed for 6 weeks and with the physical therapy and rehab she is walking again. Also, has herniated disc in neck from same disc issue and on meds to keep her comfortable to avoid a tramatic surgery for her. I have only had a number of claims I have had to dispute or really wait a long time on but they finally got resolved.

I was disappointed that a sick visit was processed as a well check up which meant that her 6 mo. wellness check was not covered. Izzy dry eye medication which was covered in the past was not covered n the last refill and it was the only refill this year. Otherwise I’ve been pleased except fo this years large rate increase!

At the end of April 2018 I had to use my pet insurance, Trupanion, for the first time. My 8 year old yorkie tore his CCL and had a luxating patella. The vet preformed both surgeries at once. $3800 later and he is on the road to recovery. I called Trupanion as soon as I knew he would need surgery and they could not have been nicer. Every time I called they asked about Jasper and every time they were polite and very helpful. Filing the claim was super easy and they are sending me a check which was for 90% of my cost after my deductible. I could not be more happy. You never want to have to use insurance, but it sure is nice to have, even better now that I have dealt with Trupanion in an actual claim.

When I submitted my forms I expected to get a response like many other insurers give- lots of excuses for NOT covering certain things. Nationwide alerted me when they received my forms (I sent by mail) and let me know it could take up to 30 days to review, which was VERY nice! No worrying about what was happening. They also alerted me when they were finished reviewing & how much they were going to reimburse me. The reimbursement amount was fantastic, & NO excuses about not covering medical related charges! I've had this insurance for ~4 years & often wondered if it was worth it. This is the first time I've had to use it & was ready to cancel if the reimbursement was minimal or the company made things tough. But this experience has proven that it is worth the money. I feel more secure about any vet bills we may have in the future- I hope the experience is just as good as this one. Thanks Nationwide!

Jasper has been my first claim. It has been wonderful dealing with Trupanion. I would and have recommend Trupanion to anyone; Should be easier now that I have an actual claim to reference when talking about your company. You really made it easy throughout the process.

I researched insurance companies, and selected Nationwide. The options you are able to choose will determine the cost AND the amount you receive back on your claim. I like the choices.

VPI helped cover expensive testing and a procedure that bought us some precious time with our beloved Minnie. The platelet injection in both knees has helped her regain movement in her hind limbs. She is far more active, in much less pain, and is expected to live out her normal lifespan. We had been told prior to the platelet procedure to prepare to say goodbye to her within the next several weeks at the most. Now, we're looking at what could easily turn out to be a few more years.
