fantastic fast service and check issued quickly

No questions asked- claim filed, reviewed and check was in the mail- hope monthly cost does not increase, at this time it is definitely worth the cost. Takes the financial stress off the unknown with only the best for our pooch!

Thankful to Pet Insurance

Living in the age of information can be overwhelming, every day it seems like information is being thrown at us, whether it's print, TV/radio, internet, social media, etc... We get strong opinions shoved our way that we never asked for that add to the confusion- pet insurance being no different. Do get your dog pet insurance; don't waste money on that! Who's right? What if it IS a waste of money?? Ultimately, we listened to our intuition and opted for a pet insurance policy with VPI, but naturally we had to wonder if it really was money well-spent. What if he never needs it; he's young and healthy. Roughly 3 years later we would find that we needed our policy not once, but twice. Both instances were several months apart and untreated to each other, but both came at times when having hundreds of dollars in vet bills couldn't have been more problematic; IF we didn't have the VPI policy. Submitting a claim was easy, I wasn't sure if every items was something covered or not, but VPI does all the reviewing for you. Within a couple of weeks we received checks and everything fell into place nicely. I no longer have the doubt about whether pet insurance is worth it or not; it is. We've since gotten a kitten, he too has his own policy now.

Thank You!!

We have two labs brother and sister. You always hope for a perfect life where nothing goes wrong. The last month and a half has been one of the longest of our lives. The brother came down with HGE the middle of April. That bill was over $1,000.00. The sister needed major surgery for a torn acl. That bill was a little over $4,000.00. The customer service was so helpful. Everyone I talked to was so friendly and professional. Thank you Healthy Paws for making a very stressful time so much easier. And thank you for following up on both my buddies! I have and will continue to recommend Healthy Paws to everyone.

Bella Surgery, Bilateral Luxating Patellas

Our dog Bella had problems with her back legs. We took her to the Vet, and she was diagnosed with Bilateral Luxating Patellas, or floating knees. A condition the Vet said would get worse over time and could lead to severe arthritis. The vet recommended surgery. The surgery was very expensive and we are thankful that Trupanion helped pay for most of the surgery.

Very happy with EMBRACE!

With four dogs, we realized we were potentially facing HUGE vet bills if one or more got sick or was injured; it was on our minds constantly. One of our vet's clients ran up a $14,000 vet bill when her dog got sick and needed short-term kidney dialysis. That was the impetus for us to do LOTS of research into our insurance options. After narrowing it down to three companies, I called each with final questions and was sooo impressed with the pleasant and knowledgeable people at EMBRACE. Additionally, we liked the option they offered of a somewhat large deductible ($1,000 per dog), but $15,000 of yearly coverage (per dog). (After the deductible, EMBRACE pays 90% which was not available with some other companies....several topped out at 80%) The deductible and the 10% co-pay could go on a credit card if the worst happened. But, the $15,000 policy gives us incredible peace of mind and for 4 dogs, the premium was very reasonable. So far this year, 2 dogs have had "illnesses"....an ear infection and a urinary tract infection. In both cases, the vet put the claim through with the EASY to use forms EMBRACE provides and within 2 days we received an e-mail letting us know the claim was received and 2 days later, we got another e-mail confirming coverage with a link to a complete outline of the coverage amount and remaining deductible. It couldn't be easier! The coverage is exactly what was sold to us....no problems, whatsoever! Very honest and straightforward! Now we have complete confidence that if something bad happens (read expensive) to one of our dogs, we don't have to worry about doing whatever it takes to care for them! VERY glad we chose EMBRACE!

VPI has poor, complicated coverage

I am a veterinarian and would NOT recommend VPI to any pet owner. The Benefits schedule is very confusing to pet owners and does not provide adequate coverage. Go with a company that provides simple reimbursement plans. Recently I had to refer my own cat to a specialist for cancer. The VPI process was extremely frustrating and time consuming. A similar situation happen with my other cat that had a fever of unknown origin.
