We have 2 German Shorthair Pointer Hunting Dogs - we've never had a need for pet insurance, but something told me that with these 2 I may need it. Nationwide has been a godsend - we've had a couple of minor accidents that have been fully covered and we are so grateful. Their claim submission process is super easy and their customer service is very caring and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone looking for pet insurance!

When I told people of the injury my dog had, they typically had 3 questions. 1) What happened? 2) What are you going to do? 3) How much will it cost? The third question was the easiest to answer because I always responded with "Thank god I have pet insurance because it takes that concern away." The people with pets tend to walk away mumbling "I think I should get insurance for my dog."

The best decision I have ever made was to purchase Nationwide Pet Ins. NW Pet Ins makes it so easy to make claims for even me. A technically challenged dog lover. And even easier to make decisions on my pets healthcare. When before I would pick and choose which preventive healthcare services I could afford.... now I have the peace of mind to take care of any issues my vet feels is essential. The biggest drama came when my big boy Louis was having trouble going up and down stairs...running into walls, trees everything. Wouldn't drive in the car anymore, which he had always loved to do. I was beside myself because I thought I had been a terrible dog owner. What did I do to cause this ?? I've been a dog owner my whole life and never experienced this situation. Nationwide Pet insurance saved my dog and me!! It turned out Louis had devolped cateracts. Who knew dogs could get it?? He was only 5 yrs old. That's what my grandma had at 80. I have to say that after having two dogs that needed some extensive medical care, I decided my next pets would have insurance. I admit as I signed up, in the back of my head I was wondering what kind of run-around I was going to get if I ever did need to file a claim. I was COMPLETELY WRONG. When my 1 year old Boston Terrier ruptured his cornea, he needed emergency surgery to save his vision and eye. As I agreed to the procedures, that nagging voice of "Am I going to get ripped off by the insurance company" was there. Again, I was WRONG. Filing the claims was incredibly EASY!!! I was able to easily check the status, and everything was covered and I received my reimbursement quickly. I will ALWAYS use ASPCA, and have even upped my coverage. (Also, getting a follow up call hoping that my doggie was doing well was an appreciated gesture.) BRAVO to companies who can back up what they offer with great, GREAT customer service.

At six months of age, we have learned that our puppy has allergies — to bees and to catnip! The reactions were so frightening, and we had to go to the Emergency Pet Clinic twice. While she is perfectly happy and healthy now, I know that the monthly payments have been money well spent, and the coverage has taken the worry out of being a pet owner of our wonderful puppy, Charlie.
