Slow payment
Filed claim and then had to get all previous records to show not a preexisting condition. Notified it would be paid and saw copy of check in email but still have not seen actual check

Beware, they will entice you with low initial rates but jack you up later
I was initially happy with Healthy Paws and have actually referred friends. Now, I wish I hadn't. I filed a small claim a couple years ago and the process was easy and uncomplicated. I have not filed a claim since 2017. My Border Collie just turned 3 and this company just sent me my renewal rate which is 68% higher than my initial rate. This Healthy Paws will bait and switch you with low initial rates and then jack up your rates later so beware.

Strange Review
It was interesting how unorganized everything was. I had our first claims last year, no issue. Then this year, after waiting for 30+ days, was requested for medical records back a full year. Then 30 more days to review, then a note that 30 more days were needed. I'm also concerned on the letter received that some issues were no longer covered since there was no proof it was cured, however Nationwide has all his records and you can clearly see they are no longer issues and as such, for the second requirement, longer than a year ago. This is a little concerning.

I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to file claims AND I am reimbursed within 2-3 weeks!
When we signed up for pet insurance I was expecting it to be complicated to file claims with long waits in between reimbursement checks but is pretty easy to file claims, receive an EOB followed by the reimbursement check.
