aSPCA pet insurance was Super easy to sign up for, and super easy to submit a claim. You fill out a short claim form online, upload the bill from your vet and they do the rest- the money is in your account direct deposit within a week or two after the claim is submitted. If they need additional info they follow up with the vet for you. You get email notifications every step so you know where your claim is in the process. Highly recommend. They also give multi pet discounts.

my experience with nationwide pet insurance has been the very best every since I signed my puppies up, wouldn't trade it for anything, not real happy about the increase in payment coverage though.

I rescued the cutest 2-month-old all-black kitten and the first thing I did after preparing my home for a new baby was call Trupanion, to sign him up the day of his first vet visit. Once he was signed up, we went to the vet, and they informed us that we should have waited to sign him up because they would have given us an offer/link that would have made his coverage immediate. I wasn't too concerned because the vet bill that day was small. The very next morning, my kitten had a freak accident and was blinded in one eye. Now he is not covered for anything relating to the injury. When I contacted Trupanion to ask for an exemption they told me, "all pet insurance companies are just that - insurance..., but once you're out of your waiting periods we can help with anything new." Then when I reminded them that if I had waited an hour to sign up, he would be covered, they very politely said tough cookies. You would think since they are trying to get more people to buy pet insurance they would do better by a new (presumably) lifelong customer who had also signed up her other two much older and more expensive fur babies, but, no. They would rather lose all her business than make one small exception for an injured and sick, sweet baby kitten. Again, in their own words, "all pet insurance companies are just that - insurance," they are not to be trusted. I am very pleased with all aspects of the companies service.

I gave been with healthy paws for over 6 years and have 8 rescue dogs insured with them. In the past 2 years their customer service has gotten awful. Plan on being on hold for at least 45 min to an hour and a half for someone to answer your call. Expected to wait almost a month to be reimbursed for your claim. I will never get insurance with them again.
