We have a Pug, and he was having an increasingly difficult time breathing, could not handle any heat or much exercise (even though he is young and at a very healthy weight), and oftentimes would gag or throw up from exertion. We discovered that Max's breed is prone to having these types of issues because of his breed, i.e. a hereditary condition. I Reviewed our insurance Healthy Paws policy and found that it did, in fact, cover hereditary conditions, but I was still unsure if the surgery would be covered. Our Max had the surgery, and the next day I submitted a claim. it was approved by the end of the day and we were reimbursed within 48 hours! I was happily shocked by how easy it was to submit the claim and how quickly we were reimbursed. I will be completely honest, I do feel like the monthly payment for our policy was a bit high and has increased 2x I believe, but I am so grateful that I purchased it and kept it through those increases and I will continue to be a Healthy Paws customer indefinitely.

Started a Trapanion policy for my healthy 8 year old lab. My veterinarian submitted all requested records. Paid my premium every month. Two years later my dog developed an aggressive cancer and they refused payment because they deemed it a preexisting condition. If that's how you do business you need to be upfront with the customer at the time of the policy; not when you depend on the service you've paid for.

Healthy Paws recently covered my dog's leg surgery. They were quick with response time and the claim went from submission to benefits declaration within about a week, including the Easter Holiday. I've been impressed with their customer service and the ease of website navigation. Their monthly premium is also very reasonable compared to other pet insurance companies out there.

Our Tessa has been very sick for the last 1 1/2 years. Without Trupanion we would have been destitute. They have been very fair and quick to resolve payment to the fine doctors who Make Tessa comfortable. Thank-you Trupanion for keeping our puppy alive and happy!!!!?? Payment to the Doctors is always swift and fair. Without you we would not have our living little girl!

However when my dog needed emergency care it was such a relief to have her fully covered by a company that had covered claims in the past with little hassle. I was able to make decisions based upon what was best for my little dog, rather than the cost of the procedures. Healthy paws was quick in settling the claims and very compassionate.
