Thank You Healthy Paws
My new puppy Charlie at 4 months developed a cherry eye. We were told by specialist that we should wait, and make sure it did not happen to his other eye. We waited until he was 9 months and the eye fixed, I obtained Healthy Paws Insurance when Charlie was diagnosed with cherry eye. This was considered pre-existing condition, which I understood and was not covered, but was so glad I did get the insurance when he was 4 months, because he later developed entropion of the eyelids and required 2 additional surgeries, which cost over $3000.00. Healthy Paws Insurance covered 90% of both surgeries after 250.00 deductible, which was incredible. The financial burden was lifted by having the insurance and I could focus all my energy on my baby, Charlie. Thank You again Healthy Paws for helping during a difficult time.

Amazing Pet Insurance!!!!!
I can't say enough good things about Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. Here's the back story. My wife and I got a siberian kitten about a year and half ago. Our little guy was super healthy with no issues what so ever. In talking to a buddy who got a puppy around the same time the topic of pet insurance came up. I did a little bit of research and wasn't sure if we really needed insurance since form what we heard cats don't have as many health problems as dogs and siberians are a very healthy breed. So i put getting insurance on the back burner. Well back in January we noticed our little guy managed to rip out a claw. We took him to the vet and sure enough it was infected. They did an xray, cleaned it up and prescribed some antibiotics. The vet bill for that visit set me back about $600. Since our little guy is super active and the chances of him tearing out a claw again I decided to resume my search for a pet insurance plan.
I came across an article written by a vet on the topic of Pet insurance and one line really struck a chord with me. It basically said you should get pet insurance to help in the event your pet requires medical attention that results in a large bill that you wouldn't be able to pay out of pocket. Now when a vets comes to you and says your pet needs this and that and it will cost this much, you don't want to be in a position to say I can't afford that and have to let your pet be put to sleep. Especially if your pet is young and it's treatable.
Okay so in m

It can't be this easy, can it?
I thought long and hard about the pet insurance I would purchase, and I am happy to say I made the best decision by going with Embrace. Not only was my claim paid in full, but it happened within a week of my dog's visit. I would encourage all pet owners to consider Embrace

Money Well Spent
Embrace is definitely my preferred pet insurance company! Whereas, I've used another company before selecting Embrace...I'm speaking from experience.
I was highly disappointed with my first carrier and quickly moved my pet over to Embrace. They were a breath of fresh air. Claims are processed immediately upon submission and so easy. All of my communications with Embrace, whether by email or over the phone has always been met with knowledgeable and friendly support.
My sweet little girl Gracie means everything to me and it's nice to know that she means just as much to Embrace.
Thank you for being so devoted to animals. Where would we be without them?!

Some good, some not so much.
Full disclosure: I don't have any experience with any other pet insurance company, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. With that out of the way, first, the good: once my claims are approved, they are paid within a few days, and in the amount approved. Now, the bad: the first time I submitted the claim, Trupanion denied it based upon a very shaky line of reasoning. I realize that the company is in the business of trying not to pay (otherwise, they wouldn't make money), but they made what I felt was a pretty big leap (my vet thought so, too, and couldn't understand it) to connect two unrelated conditions, and I ended up having to get my vet to write a letter in order to straighten it out. The next time I shop for insurance, I will consider Trupanion, but I will probably shop around quite a bit, too, just to see what else is out there.

Comforting
Siren initially showed up with Lyme disease around Christmas and was treated. However she continued with lameness and severe pain. I couldn't get her off Rimadyl. The vet raised concerns regarding herniated disc as Siren had some positive changes in her ortho/neuro exam. So we had a concurrent problem along with the Lyme.Siren does competition and jumps, she is highly trained and has special ways to move her hind in pivots. If you handle her enough she will concede and will maintain a position if you do it often enough. So I believe she left her foot turned over in the exam because she understood we must have wanted it there. An MRI was suggested but I had to follow my gut and just do xrays. I knew Healthy Paws policy and felt very comforted in letting the doctor look at her spine and joints which concerned her. We found mild arthritis but that was not the cause of pain. Now I could try something I thought would work.
Since I had x-rays showing me her situation, I decided to take her to a chiropractor and in 6 visits Siren is off Rimadyl and ready to compete again. Because I had Healty Paws I knew I could take care of the closest friend I own. The relationship between a highly trained dog and it's owner is deep. Thanks again!

Thankful
I had ASPCA insurance for my last dog. After he passed we adopted another rescue and continued with the insurance. I was very impressed when I called ASPCA to change my dogs info with how truly sympathetic they were to my loss. II even received a sympathy card from them. It is also very comforting to know that if we have to make an unexpected trip to the vet that we will be reimbursed for most of what we pay. I have highly recommended ASPCA pet insurance to all people that I know that have pets. Thank you ASPCA!!
