We adopted our bloodhound when he was about 6 months old. The previous owner had started a policy when the dog was about 2 months old. I was a bit skeptical but our vet recommended we continue. Sadly, within about 8 months, our dog needed major surgery. The cost of all of the tests leading up to his surgery (along with the surgery) was in excess of $10,000. Trupanion paid 90%. It has since covered other claims for ear inflections, etc. The claims are processed by the vet before I leave and I pay any balance. Result: dog is 100% and loving life. I cannot imagine having a dog without this coverage.

We've had the insurance for over 7 years and never really thought we would ever use it. Until our dog was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Malignant Pilomatricoma. Very few reported cases in the U.S. The aggressive cancer was caught early (thank you Dr. Patterson-VCA Hanover MA)and after multiple surgeries and specialty care from a pet Oncologist he's cancer free. Surgery and C.A.T. scans are not cheap. When I submitted claims for the first time on two occasions Embrace asked not questions and played out per our policy % in just over a week. With follow-up along the way. Couldn't ask for a better insurance partner! All insurance companies should follow your model. Thank you Embrace!

The only reason I'm not giving a 10 is I've never had pet insurance before. The staff has been excellent in helping me understand the insurance process and filing/handing claims. Our dog is a rescue without a medical history so we wanted to be prepared for any problems. This has been a great help.

Our male cat Brady has had some urinary tract problems over the past few months involving several visits to our family veterinarian and a couple visits to veterinary emergency hospitals. We submitted all invoices and doctors' notes to Embrace and they paid everything according to policy terms. Maelee (lab-golden mix) was in an accident in the summer of 2013 at 7 months old.She was in intensive care for 7 days, the hospital bill was way beyond what I could pay and Trupanion paid 90%. Maelee recently had a fungal infection from her accident and Trupanion paid 90% of that bill as well. Maelee has several different medications that she takes monthly one of them is $280. every 20 days and Trupanion pays 90% of all her medications related to her accident. I am very grateful to Trupanion for all that they do and I tell everyone I meet to get Trupanion. Note I have always asked the vet if I am doing the right thing by keeping Maelee alive and because she is only 3 the doctors all feel she has a fighting chance. Thank you Trupanion!
