I have a large mixed breed dog. When I got him as a puppy, I double and triple checked that hip dysplasia and ACL surgery were covered. They were. Now, however, hip dysplasia is not covered and ACL has limited coverage. Fortunately my dog doesn't have either of these, but now that he is older and has preconditions, changing insurance companies is not feasible. Also, Nationwide never contacted me about the changes in coverage. I was reading the booklet that came with my new yearly policy and discovered it for myself. It is also confusing about what and how much they cover for cancer treatments. I am a little concerned about posting this because of repercussions. But Nationwide has paid in a timely manner and been very helpful with his other issues.

Luckily we haven't had to use the insurance very often but when we do its fast and easy. Just found out I can do direct deposit on my checks so that was great to know.

What a great company. This our 2nd contract on our second standard poodle. After we had to put down our last dog., we received loving cards and phone calls on loosing our Sophie. They held our Account open knowing we would be getting another standard poodle (Zoe). This company is a true part of our family. Thank you Ray Houghton Zoe

Our beloved dog had to be put down two weeks ago after an illness. Trupanion was a class act all through the claims and our dog's euthanasia. They promptly pro-rated our premium and the amount was credited to our checking account within a few days after Liberty passed.. They sent a sympathy card about a week later - 5 employees not only signed it, but left heartfelt messages about our dog Liberty and our loss. My wife and I burst out crying! Yes, when your pet is insured with them you become family to Trupanion. When we find our next canine family member we will be insuring with Trupanion.

Thanks for checking in on my Hershey. Had he been ill that would have been very nice. My visit to the vet was for a healthy check and vaccinations. No issues found- happily. The outreach is a nice touch.

Nationwide does a great job of fairly reviewing claims and paying in a timely manner.

I honestly had no idea if pet insurance would be worth it. So after my dogs first vet appointment for some shots, flea and heart worm meds I submitted the reimbursement and it covered everything except his ear drops to prevent ear infections! I was shocked and so happy with the investment.

Super easy to file online and submit paperwork.
