Our Dog Ellie Belle was chewing on a Sego Palm plant while in Florida. After a few hours she became very lethargic and had major diarrhea. We rushed her off to the Emergency Vet who started an IV and treated her with charcoal and various antibiotics as the Sego Palm is lethal to 50% of all dogs who ingest the plant. The time to handle the claim was longer than expected, but that was due to our travel time and communications with the vets. Also we didn't follow the procedure of bringing a claim for to the Vet and having hem do the claim form while we were there.

Each time I have sent in a claim, large or small, I receive a friendly email and receive a check within a few days. Recently, our 18 month old lab was diagnosed with a torn ligament in her knee (very common). She needed a VERY expensive $5,000 surgery to repair her knee. After submitting the claim, we were reimbursed for 90% of the cost and received our reimbursement check in a matter of days! He used 2 pins and wire, and she is fully recovered. The cost of this surgery was an overwhelming $4500 !! Healthy Paws paid me back quickly 90% of everything except the initial examination. What a relief and what a piece of mind for the future. They have kept in touch and asked how our little Brandi was recovering. Suffice to say, I am VERY PLEASED with their ease of claims, speed of benefits check and genuine caring. I am spreading the word to friends and co-workers ! They are great !!

Truepanion is not only an insurance company, they are people who also have pets and big hearts. I am so gled I have trupanion, I didn't have a claim in four years, then our dog, Quigley , got sick. If it weren't for the Trupanion team and all their help and support, our quigley would have died because we would not have been able to get his medication without insurance. It may be another expense to consider, but in the long run well worth it. Claims are prompt and courtious with follow up questions about Quigley;s health. They are really deoted, I am quite inpressed!!!Leigh

My cat was recently diagnosed with liver disease and has begun treatment which I expect will continue for a while. Once my deductible was met, Trupanion paid for the medication and bloodwork as stipulated in my contract. It's my understanding that all future treatment/tests related to his liver disease will also be paid (at 90%). The claim was processed very quickly and payment received in about a week - very fast. The only reason I rated it a 9 instead of a 10 is because when my cat was first diagnosed, they didn't apply the initial bloodwork cost towards my deductible. Their reason was that the bloodwork done was routine. While it was routine, it uncovered the liver disease, and I thought it should be covered because it diagnosed an illness. Anyway, since that time, the two claims related to liver disease that I filed were paid on a timely basis and in the amounts I expected.
