I've been using Pets Best for years. Their premiums aren't terrible for insurance as I understand it, but they have major exclusions in coverage. The worst is related to periodontal disease. They won't cover anything unless your animal's teeth were cleaned within the last 13 months. Given that a dental cleaning has to be performed under anesthesia, this is a minimum of $300 - $1000 for each cleaning and has never been supported as necessary in a very I've visited unless there is evidence to support it. So to deny covering the anesthesia for a tooth extraction and the extractions themselves that became necessary out of nowhere with no prior history is absurd. They have also claimed in the past that one of my cats had a pre-existing condition so they wouldn't cover the bills (it was not a pre-existing condition). I'm not sure what insurance has less exclusions though.

I am very surprised with the transparency, the efficiency and the communication of Pets Best. This is my first time having a pet insurance and I was not expecting this level of service. I get notification with every process of my claim plus it is extremely easy to file a claim and if you are missing a document, they sent a notification right away explaining with a great detail, what is missing for your claim to be processed. I am extremely happy!

all 10 claims submitted this year for stander care such as vaccines and two respiratory infections were denied. In NYC where vet services are so expensive I am paying almost $600/year while this insurance only reimburses $40 dollars/year??? Nice profit margins at customer expense. There are better and more effect insurances. I am considering switching as I feel this is taking advantage of the customers.

After bringing our dog, Maizel, into the vet for what we thought was just an infection in her nose, we received the worst news that she had a rare form of nasal cancer. To get radiation treatment we had to rotate spending 3 weeks in a hotel in NY with her. We were so thankful that we had Pets Best to cover the radiation treatment, and the process was so easy to file the claims. It was one less burden to deal with. We were so thankful to get an extra year with our sweet girl. Only months after her passing, we felt two lumps on our other dog, Boulder, and after their removal we found they were both mast cell tumors. We quickly started chemo. Once again we were so thankful to have Pets Best to help make the decision to do the doctor recommended treatment with no hesitation. We have 2 chemo treatments left and we are hoping that this time luck will be on our side!

I was devastated when my fur baby, Ollie, was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer called hemangiosarcoma. I know I will do everything I can to help him live longer, even though his diagnosis has a poor prognosis. Healthy Paws has kept my hopes afloat and is always there to provide financial assistance for my baby’s surgery, chemotherapy, medications, and numerous vet visits. Without Healthy Paws, I could never have managed the financial responsibilities involved. Submitting bills via email is easy; they respond quickly and send the checks in just a few days. I got healthy paws insurance when I adopted my dog five years ago, he has had two major things happen over those years, including swallowing something that poisoned him and required hospitalization and a blood transfusion. They provide very fast reimbursement payment for everything that they cover (our policy they pretty much cover everything except for an office visit fee). Their app is so easy to use for uploading invoices and documentation. Their customer service is excellent, they follow up to ask how your dog is doing. Highly recommend.
