Why is this considered wellness care?

My puppy has an unknown skin condition which makes him bite and scratch himself constantly. The vet is weeding out causes one by one. Initially we tried the prescription shampoo, then when that didn't work we switched to trying advantix every week for a month. You are insisting on calling this wellness care. It's not. I pay almost $80 dollars a month for wellness and accident coverage. Poe is less than 5 months old, and this pet insurance is causing so much aggravation.

First Time w/Pet Insurance and Highly Recommend

Was not so sure about getting pet insurance for our Tonkinese kitten, but so glad we did. I never want to be faced with making a financial decision over his health. Having the coverage lets me sleep well at night and removes some of the worry. My kitty is just about 3 and developed a kidney stone. I called immediately and spoke with Carmen who put all my worries and fears aside. Filing the claim was unexpectedly easy and quick. When I lost my job last year I considered ending the policy, but glad I didn't. Everyone I have ever spoken with or emailed at Trupanion has been outstanding. I am so glad my vet recommended it.

Thank you so much

Thank you for being so easy to work with. This was a difficult experience and knowing you had us covered really meant a lot. I just couldn't believe it could be this easy to coordinate and it helped me expend more energy towards making the right medical decisions. I have recommended you to everyone that I know and will continue to do so. Thank you.

Everything they promised and more.

Tallulah is doing wonderfully after her surgery for a torn ACL. Thank you Healthy Paws so much for your prompt handling of the claims and for your kind note to check on her welfare. I couldn't be happier with our decision to join the Healthy Paws family.

VPI is a company run by Mobsters!

This is the worst company. They do not like to pay or cover your pet when it gets sick. My pet has been insured since 2014, with major medical and a wellness rider. My cat was diagnosed with HCM 01/02/16 2 years after the insurance was purchased. He has never been diagnosed or treated for anything remotely related to a heart condition. He went to the vet for a uti and then was sent to the emergency hospital because it was the weekend and my vet could not take him in. After going to the hospital they found the condition after many tests. The hospital stay and to see a cardiologist came to over $3000. VPI would not pay $.01. They said he had a pre-existing condition. I appealed the denial because he did not have the condition in the 2 years I have been taking him to the vet his heart was never mentioned nor was he diagnosed/treated for a heart problem. After an appeal, the came to the same conclusion. The only thing they have paid for in the 2 years is a vaccination and fecal testing which are covered under the wellness rider. They extort pet lovers making you believe that if something happens to your pet you are covered. Everything is pre-existing as far as they are concerned and I would not recommend VPI to anyone. They are the worst. I waited my money over the past 2 years paying the monthly premium. I canceled my policy with them because they are good for nothing. I can pay for vaccinations and fecal testing without them, what they were really needed for the refused to help. DO NOT PURCHASE VPI!!!!!!! I WOULD RATE A ZERO IF I COULD

Very satisfied with the experience

We are first time puppy owners and decided to play it safe by getting pet insurance. Having gone through all competitors in the market, we went with EMBRACE considering that the better coverage and the rave reviews we came across on various websites. I must say this was one of my best decisions of 2015 other than deciding to adopt a puppy. At EMBRACE, the staff is extremely professional and courteous; reimbursements are timely and quick; coverage is very good. I have had multiple vet visits in the past 1 year baby and it is very reassuring to know that EMBRACE is backing you. Vet visits can be really expensive and I am glad that I do not have to think twice before doing what is good for my puppy. Special thanks to the staff who make it happen..each time

Kidney disease

First time I entertained pet insurance after spending thousands on my prior cats due to urinary infections. I still have one female cat who requires constant care for same problem and is not covered by insurance. I adopted another cat who was 4 yrs. old and decided to look into pet insurance and finally considered ASPCA hoping I would not have problems, but needless to say, she was diagnosed with Kidney problems. All claims submitted were dealt with on timely basis and had no issues with anyone. However, based on the comments from D. Fallon and others, I'm wondering if I renew the policy will the kidney problem be considered pre-existing and denied should she not be cured at the time of renewal?
