They will take your money and respond to communication, until you meet the deductible, and need something expensive like surgery Then the injury is suddenly ineligible (even though all previous expenses for this same injury were eligible) and they won't respond to you and will leave you on hold if you call.

Trupanion came thru for us in the way I wish all insurance companies would.
Our dog was diagnosed with a malignant tumor. The holistic vet recommended surgery and supplements for recovery and making the immune system stronger. It was expensive and that is a concern for us, but Trupanion made it easy to go ahead and do the procedure and follow up with the care he will need. I used their pre-approval method so I knew in advance what they would pay for. We were worried about our dog's health and luckily not about the finances. I have heard how hard it is for people who have difficult diagnosis and I wish human health insurance was as good as Trupanion is for our pet.

I have paid so much money every month yet the big things that she needs treatment for her anxiety can’t be covered because I didn’t predict she would have behavior issues in the first 30 days of having her.
