Major increases on policy for No Reason and other issues

My policy jumped from $44.to $67. A month for no reason. I had only wellness claims and had not even met my deductible when this increase came out. A ridiculous increase! I had been a customer for years with more than one pet insured over the years. When Nationwide took over the process slowed down from less than a week to 3+ weeks for a claim. I had a wellness program which covered all visits including flea and tick medications. I noticed they also started trying to deny Frontline, I had always used frontline but I had purchased it online to save me and them money. Made me jump through hoops to get the claim paid. When Nationwide increased the policy price, they tried to sell me a cheaper policy, same price I paid before, for terrible coverage with a 10,000. Cap! I believe this is all about greed. Buyer beware!!! Nationwide pet insurance does not have your pets best interest in mind! I found other insurance at a much better price with no limits or caps.

Healthy pets make happy owners

Nationwide has always been incredible efficient and attentive. Having pet insurance with a senior dog has given me so much peace of mind. I would suggest starting pet insurance on all dogs while they are young so that if anything happens it is not a pre-existing condition. Last year I was told my dog most likely had bone cancer and that there is a 95% mortality rate within a year, but the test to determine the diagnosis and remove the growth on her wrist was almost $4,000. Most people in this situation would have a difficult decision to make between putting the dog down/amputating or spending $4,000 to find out it was “most likely cancer.” Because of having nationwide pet insurance, I was able to have the growth removed on her wrist and it was determined not to be cancerous, despite several vets originally being convinced that it was. I am forever grateful that nationwide made my $4,000 decision only a $400 decision (my copay) and my dog is still living without having to have any amputations and pain free. In addition, submitting claims are incredibly easy. I have an app on my phone and I am able to submit electronically. The claim is usually paid within 2-3 weeks and I have it set up as being a direct deposit.

CAT CLAIM FOR CHARLIE

i HAVE BEEN A NERVOUS WRECK WITH MY 5 YEAR OLD CAT, CHARLIE, iLLNESS. THE COST HAVE BEEN IN THE THOUSANDS TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH HIM, BLOOD WORK PANELS, X RAYS, CAT SCANS, MRI'S, MEDICATIONS AND NATIONWIDE PAID THE CLAIMS AS FAST AS I COULD SEND THEM IN. I WAS SO HAPPY AS IT WAS BACK IN MY ACCOUNT BEFORE IT "HIT ME IN THE POCKETBOOK"! THIS IS A LONG HEALING PROCESS AND HOPEFULLY ALL IS GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

Insurance that looks for reasons not to pay out.

Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with Nationwide Pet Insurance. It all started with extremely poor communication - lack of updates to their site when they advertise that you can track your claim's status online, followed by last minute requests for more information AFTER the 30 day processing time was expired, and finally lack of internal communication between departments so customer service is severely limited to how much they can help you. They dragged my request along for 62 days with excuse after excuse and STILL wanted MORE time because "they are just really busy." I am generously giving an overall rating of 3 only because the customer service reps TRIED to help me and a customer care advocate finally got them to complete my request and pay me out at the end of the day - major props to her. Overall, Nationwide is a very big company making a lot of money off of us, the customer, and there is no excuse for not doing better.

Reliable and fast in processing claims with accurate reimbursements

We have never had a problem in getting our reimbursements. This includes 4 surgeries of considerable amounts. Could not be more pleased with the fast turnaround
