The few phone calls I have made over the past 5 years, I have gotten misinformation each time. Basing my actions because of misinformation has caused a great deal of inconvenience and out of pocket costs that were covered by my policy! I really don't know if I believe any info anymore!

Smooth reimbursement process
Always a smooth process to get reimbursed, and with a dog with a chronic (years-long) condition who requires regular medications, it's great to get reimbursed quickly, and to not have to pay a deductible for that same condition every year. Much appreciated!

An absolute no brained for pet parents
I have had healthy paws for about a year now. Over the past year I had used it couple times here and there to cover minor costs involving various vet visits for my cat. But then my sweet kitty had a more major accident and broke his foot. It became a very expensive injury costing me around $2000 after adding up all the follow up visits, cast changes, x-rays, and other tests along the way. After each visit I’d submit our vet invoice to healthy paws and within a week I’d have the majority reimbursed by healthy paws. overall I only paid a few hundred dollars out of that $2000 and healthy paws covered the rest! It was SO comforting not having to base my decisions regarding my cats medical treatment on how much money it would cost. I was able to agree to whatever was BEST for my cat because I knew healthy paws would have my back financially. My cat truly would not be on the same road to recovery that he is now if I didn’t have them for pet insurance. I will get healthy paws for every single pet I have for the rest of my life and recommend it to every pet parent out there. Peace of mind knowing you can always get your fur baby the medical care they need and deserve! Thank you healthy paws!

Great customer service but not happy about my 53.
Great customer service but not happy about my 53.8% premium increase this year. This caused me to go from a $0 to a $150 deductible in order to keep my monthly premium costs affordable. I appreciate that costs go up but 53.8% in one year?! This will have me recommending to my friends and family that they do some shopping around for pet insurance where, previously, I was just outright recommending Trupanion as the best that one could get.

Made me feel like my dog and my family didn’t matter.
Worst experience I have ever had with an insurance company, and that includes auto insurance which is saying something. Paid my premiums for a year, COVID-19 pandemic hit and I get notification that my premiums are increasing by over $6/mo and my benefits are being decreased substantially. Annual benefit decreased by $4k most notably. Went back and forth with customer service who didn’t listen to what I was saying and just regurgitated prepared statements. Then, proceeded to blame their underwriters. When that failed they blamed my state, and told me to reach out to state policy makers because it was their fault. When the rest of the country is looking out for each other and lending a helping hand to their neighbors Figo raised premiums, slashed benefits and blamed everyone but themselves. Please think about that before you give your business to a company charged with helping your family through difficult times.

Peace of mind that my dog has great coverage.
I’ve had insurance on my dog since she was about 2. I’ve been extremely satisfied with the coverage a response that I receive from Nationwide.
