I have an emergency situation with my dog and Trupanion has been excellent at contacting multiple vet/ERs to provide records.

Worth It!
I bought insurance for my lab when he was a puppy and started eating everything - it came in very handy for the times I had to take him to the vet with possible blockages. However, the real value for us has been the reimbursements on medications as Rambo has a form of seizures and takes medication for it every month. Anything to do with his illness is covered per the plan I purchased and it's easy to file the claim. I would recommend this insurance to anyone.

ASPCA cares about my dog
I have had two claims for my Puggle. The claims process is seamless and I was reimbursed in less than two weeks. I received caring phone inquiries from a very compassionate representative. Highly recommend

Claim process super smooth; fast refunds
I have had Embrace pet insurance for a year and a half. My dog received a diagnosis for a chronic disorder; he will need to be on maintenance medications the rest of his life. I feel very lucky to have chosen Embrace over the others. It is super easy to submit a claim; there are multiple ways to submit your claim. I always choose to upload on the website, but emailing, faxing, even snail mail is an option. The claim form is very quick and easy for you and/or your veterinarian to fill out- I don't feel like it is an undue burden on the doctor to ask him or her to complete it. I have always gotten a confirmation of submission, and follow-up emails, so I know where we are and in the process without going online to check. The only thing I wish is that there was an app where you can take pictures of the form and upload, and see your claim right from an app. Even without an app, it's an easy process. That is just a wish list thing. I highly suggest Embrace. Easy process, great customer service on the phone and email, and your refunds are quick & they offer direct deposit.

Disappointed
I had a very bad experience with Embrace Pet Insurance. I purchased insurance in May 2016 and had my first incident in December of 2016 when I had my dog at the vet for vomiting and diarrhea. My claim was denied because they felt he had a preexisting condition that was possibly chronic because he had been to the vet 6 months earlier with the same core symptoms. They didn’t identify it as a preexisting condition until after I filed the claim and they reviewed his records.
I understand preexisting conditions and I may be to blame for not reading my policy completely. I do think, however, that it is a questionable business practice to allow you to continue to pay premiums when you aren’t sure what is covered and what isn’t. I also find it difficult to understand how it can be considered chronic when it happened 6 months apart. In the first case, there was no confirmed diagnosis. In the second case, they gave it a general diagnosis of gastroenteritis. It ultimately was my responsibility with the help of my vet to prove it wasn’t the same thing. Embrace’s underwriting team took the easy route of assuming it was the same thing and wouldn’t pay the claim.
I am a first-time puppy owner and assume stomach issues are relatively common in puppies. Especially those that are into everything and choose to put most of it in their mouth. Making a blanket preexisting condition like this, prevents them from having to pay for most of the things I would take him to the vet to treat.
I suppose there are worse things that could happen, but expecting coverage and being left with nothing is a bad feeling. If you are considering this plan, read everythign carefully and have them review your coverage after any trip to the vet.

FRAUD ripping the public off.
The reason I took Billy to the Vet. He was chewing on his paws. On his knee he had chewed an open sore. He would slide around on his butt. He needed his anal sack drained, but it is also a place to take a sample for MRSA, that can thrive there. Which was not done. It looks to me like the owner has no say in determining the illness of his family member, unless he is dead.
