THIS is THE ONE
My Standard Poodle George suddenly became very ill. He started throwing up and in two days also developed diarrhea. I attributed the regurgitation vigorous playing to the heat of Texas summer that is coming on and started feeding him later in the day and earlier in the morning. Once the pooping issues started I knew something more was going on. After pumpkin as a home remedy did not affect either symptom I made a late night trip to the critical care unit of our local vet specialty hospital. George was admitted immediately and was put on IV fluids. Blood was drawn, urine was taken and a fecal analysis was ordered.
It was the holiday weekend (of course!) so the lab results came in slowly. The possibility of an obstruction was considered since things were coming out both ends... they ordered x-rays of his chest and his belly, not much was seen so an ultrasound was ordered. Nothing was there except for lots of fluid in his stomach. (thank God he did not need surgery!)
FINALLY after a few days in the hospital the fecal came back. It was Giardia!! Now we knew what to do! George was treated with the appropriate medications and after a couple more days of fluids and IV medication he was released to come home. He is still on medication to get him well (2 weeks) and is feeling much better.
I can not describe the feeling I had when the staff of the hospital presented me with his estimated bill that first night. It was bad enough that he was so ill- but now the stress of a hu

Wish Human Insurance this Good!
Sadly, we had to put our 4 year old Golden Retriever, Sasha, to sleep recently after an 8 month battle with Lymphoma. It was a very difficult process but made much easier by the wonderful people at Trupanion as well as the ease of filing her insurance bill claims. Apparently this process will be getting even easier soon. I have been a human doctor for 20 years and deal with insurance issues almost daily. If our healthcare system adopted the Trupanion method, our country would have much better and affordable healthcare as well as less complicated. After Sasha died, I spoke with Cynthia to cancel her policy. She was very sweet and empathetic and even sent me a letter of condolence. The personal treatment, the ease of signing up, paying the premium, and picking your policy as well as the ease of paying/reimbursement for care make this insurance company quite incredible. I strongly recommend them for your pet and maybe one day for humans as well. Thanks Trupanion for making our loss of Sasha a little bit easier. Dr. Brown, M.D.

You Will Not Be Disappointed!
Like you're probably doing right now, I scoured the internet looking for reviews on the various pet insurance companies out there. I settled with Healthy Paws as it seemed to have the best customer service and claim turnaround time based on reviews (both here and on Yelp).
I can now truly say that having Healthy Paws is the best thing we could have ever done for our French Bulldog as well as for our peace of mind and wallet. At 10 months old, Henry has racked up close to $3,000 in vet bills, $2,000 of that being at the emergency vet for a weekend. The emergency vet trip was my first claim to Healthy Paws. After a weekend of stress, worry, and mounting credit card totals due to his delicate stomach, I contacted Healthy Paws on the following Tuesday. I submitted the invoices as well as his scanned vet records and by the next Monday, I had my reimbursement check in my hands ready for deposit. Incredible. Not too mention that the folks at Healthy Paws always send a follow-up email asking about Henry and how he is doing. Each time I have had a claim, this has been the standard of care and timeliness that I have received.
Healthy Paws has paid for itself multiple times over for our little guy. I have referred Healthy Paws to my friends, family, and co-workers. I only wish they covered people too, since they are better than my insurance company!

Good Customer Service
I am very glad I have ASPCA insurance for my dogs. I have a puppy and a mature dog and they have been there for both. Although the process takes a minute for re-reimbursement, the process works, and the people are not only helpful but seem genuinely caring about your pets health which is nice. I have had 5 dogs total on ASPCA and even during a tough loss I feel like ASPCA was there to help. Thanks!

Extremely Pleased
When we brought our Yorkie, Bailey, home I wanted to make sure he was in good health and had the proper health coverage. I had pet insurance with my previous dog but I wasn't completely satisfied with the coverage so this time I decided to shopped around. I examined the top ten rated pet insurances listed on line. Embrace Pet Insurance offered both an accident and illness policy and a wellness policy. Both policies are important to me. The Wellness Policy s something you use annually for things like shots and teeth cleaning.Veterinary costs are expensive but when you love your pet they become family and you want them to have the best veterinary care. At 8 weeks of age Bailey needed all the usual puppy shots plus a flu vaccine. The heartworm and flea medicine isn't cheap either. At 6 months we had Bailey neutered and he had to have some baby teeth pulled that were interfering with his adult teeth. All of these things were covered at 100% up too the $400.00 annual maximum. Embrace also offers direct deposit directly into our checking account and that made receiving our reimbursement that much faster. I haven't had to use the illness or accident insurance yet and hopefully I never will but I have it for Bailey just in case. It gives me peace of mind. My first Yorkie had cancer of the mouth and the surgery was so costly but it saved his life for 6 more years and I don't regret our choice. He lived to be 18 years of age. That's the reason I have pet insurance. Embrace gave me opti

Best Company I've Used
My 5 year old rottie has been through so much in her life that without pet insurance I would probably have gone broke by now. I didn't always have ASPCA Pet Health Insurance but I'm glad I switched. They have lower premiums, better refunds, and they cover hereditary issues for a reasonable price. Currently my rottie is undergoing therapy for a failed TPLO and I've had to pay over $7,000 already and have gotten just about $5,500 worth of it back and am still waiting on my next refund. They are always calling to check on my pets and I love that they send out little handwritten cards to say thank you, or to wish my animals well. I'm always an advocate for helping animals and though I know this insurance company isn't exactly the ASPCA it still makes me feel better knowing that I always have someone standing beside me when my animals are in need of care.
