Customer Service is Fantastic

I've been a Healthy Paws customer for two years and have great experience after great experience. My claims haven't even been that large, a torn dew claw and another one for a foxtail removal. But every time Healthy Paws has delivered as promised with speed and very personal service. One of the top customer service companies in any industry!

Outstanding!

We own 3 big beautiful rambunctious Labrador Retrievers. We don't have children and consider them every bit our children. Their health and well being are paramount to us. I've owned animals all my life but pet insurance is a relativly new offering for pet owners. It has come a long way in the last 15 years. I was reluctant to purchase it originally as the reviews were not so convincing and the coverage less than attractive. When we saved our third Lab from going to the pound and decided to adopt him, the time had come to consider it. I researched all the providers and compared all their ratings, rates and policies and decided on Healthy Paws. It is by far one of the best decisions I've ever made. Our oldest Lab Coopah has recently developed some health issues that had left him listless and unable to climb stairs or jump up to his favorite spot on the bed. He would also cry out in pain for no apparent reason. This of course had us very worried and led to many visits to the Vet hospital in search of answers. Turns out it may have been an autoimmune disease as well as low thyroid levels. I say may have been as we never did get a conclusive diagnosis (it's still ongoing)however he has been gradually getting stronger with more energy and he no longer cries out in pain. Healthy Paws has been there every step of the way supporting and reimbursing us for 90% of the cost we incurred during this process. They are fast (reimbursment checks are received generally 2-3 days after the claim

Couldn't do it without them!

Our little pug has had four surgeries in her first year. Both of her knees gave out at about 4 or 5 months and then she became a rock eater! Thanks to Healthy Paws we were able to have surgery on her knees (one works great now) and she's perfectly happy to have three good legs. She's had surgeries to remove rocks from her stomach and intestines. If we didn't have Healthy Paws I don't know what we would do. We would never be able to keep this adorable little tripod alive.

Reimbursement Received before Credit Card Charged!

Healthy Paws has been absolutely wonderful! We only started our policy for our 8 year old bichon mix a couple months ago, and he started acting lame around Christmas time. I took him to the vet and he had an exam and xrays which showed a knee problem. We were referred to a specialist and we submitted our first claim for the xrays and pain meds. After receiving our dog's full medical history and reviewing it for 10 business days as was stated online, Healthy Paws approved the payment of a reimbursement, after our $250 deductible. Next, the specialist confirmed that our dog had an ACL tear and needed surgery. I called Healthy Paws and they assured me that the surgery would be covered. When the surgery was performed last week, we paid the bill and the vet faxed in the claim form. We received the reimbursement check for over $2500 TWO DAYS after the claim was submitted: even before the credit card was charged for the surgery! I am amazed by the promptness and caring demonstrated by this company, and I am telling all my friends about them!

Blown out knee saved

Thank you Healthy Paws for helping me get my Rotweiler/Hound mix get back to doing what he loves best, running and playing! When he was a puppy I thought he had eaten a sewing needle and although we got through that okay I quickly bought pet insurance the next day and I'm so glad I did because I was able to get him the surgery he needed when he hurt his back leg. They refunded the cost of the surgery in about two days, can you imagine? 2 days! Now that's customer service!

Great service. Quick payments. But Ortho exam bad

The customer service has been awesome. Quick turn around on claims, with email notices keeping me up on what's happening. I love the Wellness rider. Helps me keep my pups healthy. They even processed an older claim when my vet's office realized they forgot to submit a claim after the normal filing window closes. They also were very accommodating when I had trouble getting a detailed invoice from a university vet clinic for a Holter Monitor. The only thing I've been unhappy with was being inticed to do an Orthopedic Exam on my new little puppy, in hopes of waiving a waiting period. The puppy made some reaction(nothing audible) when the vet pulled on his leg, that the vet noted on the report. Embrace said it meant the puppy had some pre-existing ortho issues, and now they won't cover him for anything orthopedic. Since I didn't think my puppy had any ortho pain or range issues, I went back and had the vet do a second exam. She agreed there is nothing wrong with him orthopedically, and she sent Embrace an email and a second report. It could be important to me to have orthopedic coverage as my breed is known to have ortho issues as they age, especially. But they refused to reverse the pre-existing status. In hind sight, given I had no need to file a claim during the waiting period, I wish I had not had an early ortho exam done. It wasn't required, and it may have dire concequences (on my pocket book). I certainly hope my puppy never encounters any orthopedic heal

Best thing we ever did for our girl!

Ophelia, our toy poodle began limping when she was around nine (9) months old and we thought she pulled a muscle or twisted her leg during one of her favorite play time activities (tug of war). Sadly, her limp continued to worsen and after two weeks, we finally conceded and took her to our veterinary for an exam. Once there, our Veterinarian conducted tests and x-rays and determined that both her hind femoral heads were severely damaged and diagnosed Ophelia with Legg–Calve–Perthes syndrome. Legg-Calve-Perthes syndrome is a disease of the hip joint that results in abnormal deformity of the ball of the hip joint and starts with an insult to the blood supply to the head of the femur bone. As the blood supply is damaged, the bone dies off leading to the bone in the femoral head to collapse and the cartilage coating of the femoral head becomes cracked and deformed. This leads to arthritis or inflammation of the hip joint causing pain and lameness in the affected legs. The cause is not completely understood however the treatment is a femoral head and neck excision with an excellent prognosis. (Degner, 2004) Sadly Ophelia had the issue with both her legs and required a double Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) which is expensive and painful. We scheduled the surgery for both her legs and once the surgery was completed, our Veterinarian and the Orthopedic Surgeon signed the claim form and their office sent the claim and all of Ophelia’s medical records to Healthy Paws. Great Customer Service

I have insurance for my six year old German Shepherd and my half Lab and half German Shepherd puppy. The reason I chose Embrace is because their coverage seemed broader than most pet insurance companies and so far we have been reimbursed for everything we were expecting, including some things we weren't expecting (e.g. a tooth removal). I have been very impressed with Embrace's prompt responses and willingness to keep me in the loop thus far. Their customer service is excellent. The only thing I wish I could change was waiting so long to get pet insurance for my older dog because she has many pre-existing conditions. Still worth it though!

Great support and coverage!

We are so glad we have trupanion for our dog Cherry! She had to have surgery on her leg and we were able to concentrate on giving her the care she needed and not worry about how much it was going to cost. It's even better than the medical insurance we have for our own family. Trupanion was caring and prompt and even looked in on us afterwards.
