I have nothing but good things to say about Healthy Paws. My claim was processed within hours of them receiving the bills and I had the reimbursement check in my hands within a week. The customer service was outstanding. I received a personalized follow-up e-mail, which I thought was a very nice gesture. When I realized that I did not receive a check for a balance from my primary vet, I e-mailed them to see if they received anything and when I got the response to the e-mail, they had already called and requested what was needed from my vet as well as processed the claim. Great company !!

Our puppy became ill and required an emergency visit leading to overnight hospitalization for care. The entire ordeal was obviously very stressful for us, but fortunately our pup made a full recovery. With all the stress related to the illness, we am happy to say that the insurance claim process with Healthy Paws was entirely stress-free. We filed our claim on a Sunday night, received confirmation that our claim was received, processed, and approved on Monday (with detailed explanation of what was covered), and received a check reimbursing costs by the end of the week. The entire process was quick and efficient. Healthy Paws even followed up afterward to see how our puppy was doing, which was appreciated. We are very happy with the service we received and would highly recommend Healthy Paws to others considering pet insurance.

Soon after losing our much loved older dog last fall we adopted a little fluff ball mixed-breed puppy from a rescue group specializing in shelter dogs. Even though he was young and healthy, our vet suggested getting pet health insurance for him, especially considering the huge vet bills we had just been through with our old dog. We decided on the Healthy Paws 90% coverage policy (excluding vet exam fees) because we wanted to be covered in case of a big bill, but still have reasonable monthly premiums. We had one or two vet visits over the winter and early spring that brought us up to our deductible, and we promptly received a reimbursement check for the eligible charges as soon as the vet submitted our invoices. Then one Sunday in May our puppy suddenly became very sick, stumbling, drooling, and hallucinating (he was trying to walk into the wall). It was clear that he had somehow gotten into something extremely toxic, though we're not sure about what it could have been, since he has always been either confined to a very safe part of our house, on leash on walks, or closely supervised in our safe, fenced yard. We suspect that he may have eaten a toxic mushroom, since we live in a forested area with lots of natural vegetation. We rushed him to the emergency vet, where they first tried to bring the seizures under control, not very successfully, and they were not sure they would be able to save him. I purchased Embrace and Embrace Wellness for both of my mini Aussies just a couple of weeks ago. Last week I took them in to get microchips and to get Trifexis for one of them. I faxed the claim on 6/1 and today, 6/7, I have received an email telling the claims have been processed and I will receive a direct deposit for full, yes FULL, payment for all services within two buisness days.

My beloved 10 month old indoor only calico kitten Juniper unexpectedly developed pyometra, an infection of the uterus that can quickly become systemic and fatal. She had not been spayed yet because anesthesia is a risk given that she has a heart murmur that her vet hopes she will outgrow. Although she hadn't eaten breakfast, she was still playing the morning she went to our neighborhood vet however she was in actuality, seriously ill and was referred immediately to a nearby emergency veterinary hospital - time was of the essence. At the emergency vet she was treated by a board certified veterinary surgeon who performed an emergency spay and was able to monitor her heart closely during the operation and clear up her internal infection. She got through the surgery very successfully and recovered in ICU for almost 2 days and is fine now - back to playing with her toy mice and her 4 legged pal Loki. Her bill from this emergency vet visit was almost $3000 which Healthy Paws paid a majority of (at 90% coverage) minus my $250 deductible. I had only signed Juniper up 2 months before so honestly I am still astounded at the coverage and also the high service level and diligence of Healthy Paws in their ongoing communication with the emergency vet team and me in getting coverage details and payment authorized so that Juniper's surgery could proceed. Very first claim I filed took only about a week for them to process. I received claim reimbursement payment very quickly. I wasn't expecting it since every time I file a claim anywhere else would take at least 2-3 weeks time. Very helpful staff and I'm very satisfied.
