Overall ok but claims process can be difficult if additional documentation is required
My experience with Nationwide has been mixed. WIth my prior cat, I had to provide alot of addiitonal documentation and claims were still rejected. The annual caps for coverage when a pet has a chronic illness made no sense to me. For example, my cat had congestive heart failure, and after basically one or two follow-up appointments, the insurance was capped out for any additional xrays or even her medication. The coverage for continued care needs is poor, given the premiums paid. The coverage is fine for one-time medical needs or annual maintenance exams.

ASPCA Pet Insurance has been a lifesaver
ASPCA has saved my family from the pain of having to shoulder the entirety of multiple large vet bills, including one gigantic bill for when my dog tore her CCL and had to get TPLO surgery. The total bill when have been catastrophic to our finances, but ASPCA Pet Insurance was there for us. They processed our claim quickly and covered a good portion of the procedure's cost. Thanks to ASPCA Pet Insurance, we didn't have to take out a loan to cover the surgery – they made the financial pain much more bearable and allowed us to focus more on our pup's recovery.

Very Poor reimbursement
I find the reimbursement process takes extremely long, several times after 40 days I have to email customer service and ask them to process my claim for just routine check ups. I have other friends that use different companies and reimbursement doesnt take this long. Most likely will not renew next year.

Great insurance!
I am so glad I have nationwide. Customer service is great and always helpful. Only complaint I have is that reimbursement for reoccurring claims takes a long time. My dog Is on prescription dog food and it takes about 6 weeks to get reimbursed. Other than that I am beyond happy with nationwide. I have referred them to many close friends and family!

Thankful for Nationwide's assistance in paying for my claim.
This was my first time submitting a claim for one of my pets. I didnt' know what to expect for reimbursement and honestly didn't have high expectations of getting anything back. Imagine my surprise to receive full reimbursement minus my deductible!! Sooo thankful to Nationwide! Now I don't have to worry about the vet bill and can concentrate on getting my Sam back to 100%.

Everyone should have pet insurance!
I bought this pet insurance when we adopted our shelter kitty, thinking it would be years until I had to use it. Just a few months later, he started showing symptoms of an age-related chronic disease. ASPCA insurance has been great about the many claims I had to file as we tried to figure out what was happening, and the many appointments and tests he's had to have to maintain his quality of life. Most importantly, I've had the peace of mind that when my doctors strongly recommended something that might have been out of my normal budget, I knew ASPCA insurance would step in and keep it affordable.

Nationwide is the best provider for pet insurance!
I have never had any issue with filing a claim for either one of my pets that are insured through Nationwide. We appreciate the fast responses and the support. I just recently referred a family member to Nationwide and she was equally impressed with the assistance she received to start her policy over the phone. In return, I received a $20 Amazon gift card. Accupuncture
Joey , 13 , lost most of use of his back legs . Severe arthritis looked for us to make hard decisions. Tried accupuncture with real good results and found this to be covered. Once we got paperwork set up it has been pretty easy to make claim. Steep increase in coverage has me concerned lately.
