Not sure what to make of Trupanion
I have had a very good experience with Trupanion until recently. All of a sudden they are raising my rates and making changes to the policy and how it works and how things are calculated. I find it very dishonest.

Insurance denied
Despite charging me an ever increasing monthly amount cumulating in a $167 per month charge (after the latest annual hike)... for $2500 coverage, $400 deductible, and a 90% reimbursement for a period of years, for 10 year old otherwise healthy dog, Fetch denied a dental claim of a little over $1500 based on (they said) a pre-existing condition. That condition being, a being a vet report in 2018 that stated mild tartar was present on the canine teeth. no treatment was recommended at the time., and no exclusion was noted when I signed on with Fetch a couple of months later. (despite them requesting all the vet notes from my vet).
I have to say though, the reps on the phone were excellent, and totally understood my concerns and respected my decision to cancel the policies that I held with Fetch.
save your money and go to an insurer that pays out.
If a big claim happens, you need to know the insurance company has your back when you need it, and doesn't look for reasons not to pay

Great Experience with Healthy Paws
I have had a Healthy Paws plan for approximately 7 years. I have found the rates to be reasonable during this time. I recently filed a claim and was quickly reimbursed according to my plan’s details. The process was extremely simple and I was updated via email through every step.

Highly recommend signing up IMMEDIATELY!
We signed up for Healthy Paws the day we adopted our 2-year-old rescue Aussie Shepard mix and we are SO GRATEFUL we did! Turns out our pup has epilepsy so we have been to see three general vets, an emergency vet, and a neurologist, which as you can imagine adds up. Not to mention daily medicines, prescription diet, and lifestyle changes needed to manage our dog's seizures.
Healthy Paws has been incredibly responsive to all questions about claims and we receive the reimbursement within a couple of days. It's been tough navigating our dog's medicine, doctor appointments, tests, and emergency needs. We are thankful that Healthy Paws is easy to navigate with a great policy and customer service team. It makes a world of difference to us and our pup!

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is the best insurance for your beloved pets! My Vet even gave me free coverage with another provider but I chose Healthy Paws Pet Insurance because they have the very best coverage at the best price!
- There are no caps on coverage which is very important if your pet requires surgery or even cancer treatment.
- You choose your deductible and coverage!
- They also cover Apoquel, which my Vet Dermatologist said other companies do not cover!
- My 9 1/2 year German Shepherd Dog has been covered by Healthy Paws Pet Insurance since he was 8 weeks old and has allowed me to give him the very best care available!

I purchased this insururance 3 years ago wondering if its worth it pay every month file a claim pay your deductble to find my claim was 5.00 wow doesnt even buy a bag of dog food wondering if this is worth iit or a rip off

Ongoing experience with Trupanion
The best decision I made after purchasing my dog was to choose Trupanion as his health insurance provider. After searching through other companies, they were recommended to me and they have been a blessing. He has received superior care because I knew it was affordable due to his Trupanion insurance.
