My cats broken leg covered!
It was very quick and easy. My cats broken leg was covered immediately. Charges not covered were explained (pill pockets). Overall a great experience.

Fast!
I've had pets plus us for years. I have found lately that the turn around times for a claim is getting a lot faster. It says they process claims within 20 days, in the past I've waited over that period and had to send emails to get my claim back. The last couple claims I've put through have came back in record time (10 days).

Worst Pet Insurance/experience
I have Healthy Paws for my 8 year old mixed breed dog, have paid my ever increasing premiums on time every month without complaint. Have had this insurance policy since he was 12 weeks old and have only had 1 claim prior to this last one. Submitted claim after $8500 TPLO surgery, received and email and update on their app that my claim was processed and approved and I would have my reimbursement in 3-5 days from 02/14 - called on 02/28 because I had not received my reimbursement. Was told that the agent was going to put me on hold while she looked into it further as she could not see any notes that the reimbursement was actually issued, call was then disconnected. Called again and was told, "well, we are at the mercy of the USPS, so not our fault if you didn't get reimbursement". After speaking to multiple levels of supervisors, best answer I could get was, "we will open a finance case, no idea how long it will take for them to start working on it or get the new reimbursement out to you". Asked for a call back from someone in finance and was told I would get one within 48 hours. Did not get a call, then got an email from a customer liaison manager who advised she ensured my claim was escalated to finance and if I wanted a call back, to give her dates and times. Responded with my dates and times (any day, any time between 0800 - 1700 EST). No call. Called again this week and was told case was not escalated and the the Customer Service Liaison I was speaking to would escalate it. Unfortunately I am stuck with Healthy Paws now because if I change companies, the 2 issues he has had would be considered preexisting. Worst choice I ever made was Healthy Paws

Affordable, Reliable and Caring
Healthy Paws has seen my dog through two major TPLO surgeries both within 18 months of each other. I would have never been able to afford the surgeries without pet insurance. They processed my claim(s) quickly and even sent me a follow up email to see how my dog was doing. Affordable, reliable and caring.

Recommended - easy claims, no fuss, no hassle, great value
Outstanding pet insurance.
I researched pet insurers a lot and HealthyPaws came up tops - Once you are setup with them - sometimes take a little longer but only the first time it is soo easy to claim!
I have submitted a few claims now and its as easy as uploading the invoice pdf to the site - thats it - they then review whats claimed and whats not and send you the details back - no issues or fuss and clear explanations.
My most recent claim was absolutely perfect!
My choc lab 'Mavis' had an ACL partial tear and had to have surgery. I submitted the claim on the Friday and the cash was in my account on Monday! The explanation was all complete that day also with clear exact responses of what was covered - and they covered everything that I paid for. I have 80% coverage and had a $110 deductible left and the took that off and covered everything else - Absolutely perfect!
Honestly, I will never change from them and cannot recommend them enough - I have actually been offered cheaper insurance through my work and I will not change!
I wish my human health insurance was as good!

Owners Beware
I got Trupanion now for 14 years and NEVER made a claim. I made my first claim now and I was told they cover 90%.(I'm paying over $100 a month and costs have gone up over 70% over the last 14 years with no claims) what they DONT TELL you is that they have a bunch of extra fees that before you know it you're only covered for less than 40% of your clam. To speak of their amazing customer service (not) I found out via an 'email' they're only covering my deductible (which I'm supposed to pay); you would think they would call and explain to a first-time claimant why 60% of our claim wasn't covered! AFTER being told for 14 years that he is covered on these costs. I am going to cancel the insurance at this point and take a chance, and love and care for my dog on my own. I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone...Trupanion lost a loyal 14-year customer that you took advantage of by taking fees and not providing customer service which I'm seeing is an ongoing issue in your posts.

Waste of time and money. Scammers
I subscribed in end of 2012/early 2022. Everything went well. Until I made a claim. I had joined all the proper documentation. I had no answer. After my second or third follow-up I received an email saying that my claim was denied without any explanation. I asked for a feedback but nothing. I sent at least 20 emails and tried calling but nothing (their call center says at 3:00p.m. that their call center is closed and regular hours are from 8:00 to 8:00 p.m.!!!). No one picks up. After I threatened to cancel I received a single answer explaining the cancelation policy. I paid for more than 1 year for nothing. Complete scammers!!!
If I could give 0 out pf 5 I would gladly do it
