Very dissatisfied with coverage
I am a veterinary technician as well as the owner of a dog training facility in New Mexico. I have recommended Trupanion to clients on countless occasions. I have 2 dogs of my own who have had insurance through Trupanion since I have owned them. One has had coverage since she was about 10 weeks old and she is now 5 years old. The other dog was rescued from a shelter 10 months ago and she is now about 18 months old now. Thankfully, I have never had a claim. On my recommendation, my mother (who is elderly) recently obtained coverage for her dog as well. Unfortunately my mom's dog was slipped while running an agility course and began limping. The dog had been insured for about 3 weeks at the time of the injury. Trupanion has refused to cover the injury, calling it an illness instead. They stated that the dog must have been unhealthy and thus was predisposed to a lameness because a healthy dog would not have come up lame. I feel like they used an unlikely loophole to avoid paying on his injury. I have never heard of a lameness from an acute injury being regarded as an illness, and I don believe a "healthy" dog couldn't develop a lameness after a fall.

EMBRACE covered me!
I've had times where insurance were "unable" to cover certain medical expenses. EMBRACE's staff were friendly and on top of everything I needed to get done. They refunded our vet bill and Bentley (my SH Chihuahua) is happy and healthy!

Great Company
I filled out the claim form, took it to my vet with the attached payment statements, they faxed the required info to Embrace. Several weeks later I get a check for the amount over my deductible! Couldn't ask for any better service. I would definitely recommend them.

Ethical and Caring company
Charley has had an endless amount of health problems. I wasn't sure if having insurance would help since he has so many pre-existing conditions. But he recently had an accident and needed an x-ray. Because of the accident, the vet discovered some other issues. It's been finally diagnosed as Cushing's Disease, which has constant follow up tests and medication required for life. It has all been covered with no hassle and saved me and will save me a lot of money. They also have great customer service and online tools. My only recommendation would be to have an app for members to be able to easily log into from their phones to submit and view claims and see account information. Thanks to embrace for being helpful and happy to pay out claims with no push back. Good and ethical company that I trust.

I Love Healthy paws
When my little Emma came up lame, and was diagnosed with a torn CCL, Healthy Paws was there. Emma had to have TPLO surgery, which was $3,500. Healthy paws paid the claim quickly, and at the rate I signed up for; 90% reimbursement. They even sent an e-mail to check up on her.

Frustrating Experience
I spoke with 4 representatives in trying to determine exactly what I needed to provide. I asked that they let me know if more information was needed - the first one did not get back to me, but rather he called the VET. The vet then called to see if this was the same information I had requested. Ultimately after too much time on the phone and promises made to me that I would be called if any problems arose, the final young woman is the only one who followed up with me. The problem that I thought was Embrace's was at the vet, they had sent information with our name on it, but for another dog. Had the second person followed up with me about this incorrect information - I would have been able to take care of the situation post haste. I am still uncertain how much Embrace will cover for my dogs emergency surgery, which more than covered my deductible. It has not been a good experience - I will write more following communication on my claim. I cannot recommend Embrace to others at this time.

Two precious ets
In the past had a different policy with an acceptable company. The attitude there was very casual. My daughter had ASPCA Pet Insurance. Better treatment of pet parents, faster reimbursement, and better coverage. I am very happy with this company! Have 2 dogs...one is the old man and his younger girlfriend. hahaha

Disappointed
My dog was diagnosed with Pannis (an eye condition caused by ultraviolet rays)
My claim was denied, based on Pets Best concluding this was a pre-existing condition, they had no proof bringing them to this conclusion and she had never been seen for this condition.
Very disappointed, this is a chronic condition and my feeling is they knew they would have to continue paying for medications, so they made the decision to deny the claim. I termed my insurance as of 7/19/16 and have yet to receive my premium refund.

Worth every penny
This is the second claim I have filed through ASPCA and I have had zero issues being reimbursed. I submit my claim and in a couple of weeks I receive a check. If it weren't for them, I would not have been able to afford to save my fur baby's life. Thank you.
