Superb Service from Embrace

Embrace continues to impress me with their thorough and very fair evaluation of my claims. We have two dogs and we have been experiencing a problem with Giardia (sp?)that may have been passed from one dog to the other. Embrace provides me with the status of claims while being reviewed and then provide me a very clear Explanation of the Benefit and why it was handled the way it was. Great communication.

really fast service

I am amazed at how fast I got my payment. I sent it in on a Thursday night and had the money back in my checking account on Sunday. And that was with me having to re submit something because of a mistake on my part. Really great fast service.

excellent customer service is Embrace

Jennifer Doering Embrace rep is another team member at Embrace who has stepped up and given us tremendous and timely and appropriate and kind service. We had not had pet insurance before Embrace with our Newfoundland Ella, I'd like to share with you the review I wrote for Smoketown Vet Hospital for which Embrace was a big part as you walked alongside us the whole way to take care of Ella. "Barb and I own Ella a year and eight month old Newfoundland. She began to hobble and limp in pain after running and playing when she was a little over a year old. We found out from Dr. Gayle Jaeger at Smoketown that she had to have shoulder OCD surgery on both of her front shoulders. Dr Jaeger and the team, everyone, at Smoketown Vet did an incredible job. Dr. Jaeger was wonderful, understanding, kind to Ella, professional, skilled, patient and a great surgeon based on the awesome results. Ella now runs and swims - she's a Newfie! she swims and swims and swims and swims! and plays and chases and now at full speed and with great ease. We're looking forward to years and years of great companionship and activity. The care and friendliness and skilled and persistently achieving rehabilitation team headed up by Dr. Sarah Urban was fantastic - Ella was excited to go there every time it was rehab day - they treated Ella like a star - and even sent home a silly picture of Ella just because they were enjoying spending time helping her recover. The administrative staff was wonderful from accurate rea

excellent emergency coverage, fast reimbursement

We researched a number of pet insurance companies and chose Trupanion's emergancy policy as the best suited for our young female saluki mix, Cleo. Rather than try to cover her routine expenses, which are relatively easy to budget, we decided that we should cover any emergency situations, which are usually the most costly and least prepared for. In hindsight, the best value in such coverage is that when an accident happens you are not forced to make major decisions about your pet's future based upon financial considerations. In other words, since the insurance covers 90% of all accident-related expenses, there is no reason to skimp on the necessary medical procedures. We have a very active dog who runs with us daily in a wooded park near our home. Several years ago she started lifting one of her hind legs on our return from the woods. Our vet diagnosed a torn ligament in her knee and gave us the choice of surgical repair or just letting the dog live with it. He said that many people don't want or can't afford the expense of surgery (around $2000-) and choose to do nothing. The animal eventually gets used to its reduced mobility and doesn't seem to experience lasting pain. Because we had our Trupanion policy we never thought twice about opting for the surgery, and after 4 months our Cleo had 100% of her mobility again. The surgeon advised us that it was possible that she might sustain the same injury in the other hind leg, because after recovering they tend to put more weight

Embrace made it easy.

My 2 puppies were just neutered and spayed and Embrace Wellness covered it right away, no need to wait. The forms were super easy to fill out and Embrace follows up with very friendly and helpful e-mails. My claim was paid fast, too, directly to my bank account in about 2 weeks after filing. Fast and easy. Thanks Embrace!

First wellness claim a success!

I bought the wellness plan plus knowing that I was going to be visiting the Vet many times for puppy shots etc. the Wellness plan is sort of like a savings account you can pull from early. The $400 allowance will go a long way! Also, the money requested had a quick turnaround!

Incredibly fast claim payment

My first claims were for wellness check ups, and were received within a couple of weeks. Embrace always has immediately followed up on all correspondence and I received an email right after the claim payment making sure the payment was received and asking if there were any concerns. This is great business.

I LOVE Embrace!

One of my dogs (8 pounds) was attacked by an unleashed owner-free much larger dog that charged us out of nowhere. The dog attempted to kill my dog but unfortunately didn't succeed but she did require a 5 day stay in the hospital with multiple tests and round the clock care. Embrace made the entire nightmare much easier by covering everything that I was entitled to with my policy in a very timely manner, hence allowing me to not have a large charge sitting on my credit card for an extended period of time!! Thanks Embrace for always being there for my dogs and I !

Iffy on Pet Insurance

We've had many dogs over the years, but this is our first experience with insurance. We thought to try it out when we got a new puppy. Unfortunately, the pup was a few months old by the time we signed up and, by then, had had two or three ear infections. (Common in our humidity-filled climate). Based on that, Embrace has denied several claims under the guise of dermatologic conditions. They said that even if our dog goes for a full year without another ear infection, they'll use the fact that she had ear infections in her early months as a means to deny any claims related to ear infections, dermatologic conditions and other internal infections. The customer service reps with whom I've spoken have all been quite nice, but they told me that, at this point, we won't be reimbursed basically for any claim other than orthopedic; they explained that pet insurance is NOT like health insurance. It's much more like property casualty insurance in which the insurer is more interested in denying claims than in promoting good pet health in order to avoid future claims. This seems to be less about Embrace, per se, than about the pet insurance industry overall.
